Is he even going to be back this season?

The Caps don't need him with Neuvy and Holtby looking so sharp this season. Plus, it would help their future to grab a couple first rounders, thoughts?
Edmonton has Dubnyk who has a very respectable 9.13sv% behind the worst defense in the league and will go up slightly after only allowing 2 goals on 40+ shots. Plus our picks are too valuable as they will be early round picks. TB might as they are very close to be a playoff contender and goaltending seems to be their main concern

A young, highly talented goaltender with a formidable playoff track record (series win vs the Rangers, took the eventual Stanley Cup winning Pens to seven games, more or less single handedly)? Caps will accept nothing less than a first rounder.

I wouldn't be suprised.

Colorado might be a fit. I think a trade is more likely than offer sheet though.

Would have to be a good offer, and they won't get that.

Varlamov is the better of their 3 goalies, too bad he's always injured.

We're not talking trade, we're talking offer sheet compensation.

They could trade him or Neuvirth at the draft. The Caps need a more experienced goalie who can play 20-30 games or more per season to take pressure from their young goalies. And with Holtby emerging they can afford to trade Varlamov or Neuvirth.

your 20-30 game veteran by definition would be an inferior goalie for any ready for the NHL young goalie. why would the capitals take a step backwards in quality??

thats just dumb. if the caps traded one of neuvy or varly, they would fill that spot with holtby rather than ty conklin or somebody like that.

since the caps dont have to move any of the three goalies, they are going to keep them and use them, just like this season.
