We’re going to battle for them, and for them to boo us shows a lack of respect from them, but it’s a part of the game. Fans boo their teams all the time, so it’s nothing we can be really upset at."

We come back, and we’re playing a team that’s technically still alive (in the playoff race) but maybe on their last gasp of air, and we just came out flat. Right from the get-go, every single guy. The only guy who probably was ready to go was Quickie [Jonathan Quick]. I thought he was tremendous in the first two-and-a-half periods. A couple tough ones, lucky bounces, and he was probably exhausted at that point. A trap game? Maybe. Sometimes you’re going to have to fight through those."

Everyone makes a big deal about losing the first home game after a road trip. I think it’s just a mindset, really. I mean, if you’re ready to play, whether it’s your first game back or not…tonight it didn’t matter if it was our first game back or we’d been home for four or five days. We play that way, we’re not going to win games."

We have 11 games left, and we are in control of our destiny. … There are no easy games; we can’t take any nights off. It’s very frustrating, and if you’re not frustrated in this room then you shouldn’t be in it. It’s, for sure, a disappointing loss, especially the way we played. But it doesn’t matter if you lose 2-1 or 4-0, it’s a loss and it’s behind us now."

The turnovers, being outbattled along the boards, dot to boards, giving up the great scoring chances we did. Our power play, right at the start we have an opportunity do something and we don’t. We turn the puck over, we got offside on it right at the start. There’s just a lot of things that were frustrating. And obviously the fact that we had six shots at the end of the second period was glaring at me the whole game. Then to give up that late goal, it was a reaction by a very frustrated coach. It’s just disappointing. That’s the last thing you want to hear, going into the dressing room. You’re trying to find a way to start a fire there, to get a good 20 minutes of hockey, and that’s what you go into the room with. You’re remembering that, probably as much as anything that has happened in the game. So I was frustrated. Look, I’ve said this many times. We’ve got great fans here. I know that. They mean a lot to this hockey club. They’ve brought a lot of energy and a lot of emotions to our games and helped us through a lot of difficult times. The atmosphere in our building, from the middle of the year last year, right through the playoffs, has been incredible because of the fans. I overreacted, probably. You don’t want to drag them into the reason why, but I did. There’s nothing I can do about it now. It’s never the right thing to throw stuff at your fans. I know that. It was a night to forget."

LET'S GO KINGS !!!

- Next HOME Game -

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

... Wow, so Quick is starting, huh? Did I read that right??? I would have thought that he'd go on Monday, that's been the plan and the plan has worked pretty well.

I get that Quick imploded and we all feel bad for him there, but why punish Bernier by denying him a start that he's earned? Wow, yeah - I just don't agree with this. I'm shocked, in fact.

Losing is not an option. At the end of the night we better have those two points. It's a four point game. Do it.

Murray said before the Blues game that he was going with a goaltending plan, for the final stretch of games, that focused around Quick. He said after the game that he didn't blame Quick for the loss. I don't think it is shocking at all to see Quick get the next start, it makes sense whether I agree with it or not.

Anyhoo. Just win. GO KINGS!

Terry said before the game yesterday that Quick will be playing majority of the games that are left.

We talked about this before leaving on the road trip, where it’s important to start to put the focus on one goaltender a little bit more now. That’s the plan, and I’ll follow through with that plan, if everything works out accordingly. I plan on using Quick more, to get him ready. He’s been our No. 1 goaltender, right from the beginning, and that’s where I plan to go to. ”

I am in the middle on Quick starting too. I want him to get the redemption start and am happy for him but I felt that the rotation was really working well. Giving JB the more frequent starts took his game a long way and Quick seemed to do well with the additional rest.

Oh well, JQ is our number one and giving him some additional games down the stretch to build his tempo seems like a good idea. I am right down the middle.

We better win. After last game, if we lose this one we're going to have to deal with the goalie fanbases attacking each other

i am hoping that we don't boo our own team before the end of the game ever again. That will go a long way in showing that we actually support our team through thick and thin.

... I don't think anyone here is blaming Quick for the loss at all, but it's still a huge shock to me considering what happened. Give up three very soft goals = get the start in the next game? I don't know. Don't see how it makes sense, either. And it smacks of a double standard - because if Bernier had given up three like that, that's the last action he'd see this season; bet your ass on that.

Anyway, it's a head-scratcher. I hope Quick turns it around, but I don't agree with this decision.

People go to endless extents to defend Quick. Yeah, the loss wasn't solely his fault, but he pretty much let in four soft goals. Bernier earned tomorrow nights start and for him not to get it is not right.

Look up the statistics as I have, and you will find that Berniers numbers in their last 10 or so respective starts are far better than Quicks. However, I'm sure the Quick fans will find a way to bypass that.

But, Terry said Quick will be starting most of the games. I would agree with you if that wasn't the case, but it is. Quick is the number one and needs some kind of confidence and push going into the playoffs.

I agree that Murray should not have a plan for the goalies. He should play whoever is playing the best.

I am pretty sick of hearing about people's spots being guaranteed or cemented. It's BS. The Kings second line has been statistically the worst line in the NHL the past 15 games but Terry has a plan so they stay. Same goes with the goalies, so if Quick gets shelled tomorrow we got right back to him?

If certain players aren't cutting it then it needs to be addressed. Not saying Quick sucks, I like Quick but to say "well TM has a plan and it involves Quick getting the majority of the starts" that is ludicrous. This is a professional hockey team, not a tee-ball team. You play who gives you the best chance to win.

We should have a drinking game.

Players: Baldie and Fairy

Take a drink when they:
Whine
Take a stupid penalty
Run the goaltender
Try to start a fight
Hide behind the refs

pretty big game.

a win puts them 6 points clear of the ducks

whereas a loss puts the Ducks 2 behind, who also have a game in hand and hold the tiebreaker
