The average salary in the SEL is around 200K US. Yes that is more then someone on a low end ELC deal if they are in the AHL. Harty's AHL Salary is only 65K a year but now that he is in the NHL he is probably making more than 95 percent of the players in the SEL or FNL.
this was taken from a newspaper 2007 and the issue here was if players easily can make 6 times a ahl salary in sm-liiga today. and i said no ,so your numbers is good for my case.I think we can say case closed!
6 times the minimum, maybe, but not 6 times the Average.
If Harski gets the chance to finish the season here, and plays the way he did last night for the majority of those games, management better look at cutting ties with Jacques.

Even if he doesn't I suggest that management should cut ties with Jacques.
There's no way that median salary in SM-league is 420 000, doesn't matter if it's dollars or euros. Best players can probably make 300 000 € (top salary in 2009 was 268 000 €). NO ONE is definitely making over 1 million dollars in season, not a chance. Median salary is likely around 60 000 €, maybe even below that.
Top 10 in salary (SM-Liiga 2010-2011):
(In Euros)
Esa Pirnes
350 000
Jari Viuhkola
340 000
Kamil Kreps
320 000
Kurtis Mclean
320 000
Petteri Nokelainen
310 000
Mikko Lehtonen
310 000
Pavel Rosa
300 000
Ville Peltonen
300 000
Jukka Hentunen
300 000
Teemu Aalto
295 000
So... the whole top 10 makes 300 000 euros per year.
I just want to go on record to say that I think Hartikainen will be an amazing player. He's got two things that make for a deadly combination: size + constant all out effort. His hands aren't bad either.
When I went to the Barons/Heat game here in Calgary, he was the highlight, the reason I left with a smile. I hadn't really taken notice of him as a prospect until seeing him live.

Ditto, except I was at the Barons/Heat game in Abbotsford. His goal was amazing, and I was sitting next to the bench and got his attention by yelling at him in Finnish.
so the best payed player earns 450 000 $ and ahl average is about 65 000$ its 7 times the ahl average and the 10 th earns 6 times!
the average salarys in finland is 66 436 £( 85 000$)
median salary (take every salary top to bottom and then choose the one in the middle) is 43 800 £ (56 000 $)
So when you add these average AHL salaries together do you include the AHL salaries of guys like Sheldon Souray making 5+ million or Wade Redden making 6+ million in the AHL?
For example on the Oilers AHL team for most of this season you had some guys like:
Jeff Deslauriers - 1.1 million
Alex Giroux - 500 000
Martin Gerber - 200 000
Brad Moran - 225 000
Zack Stortini - 700 000
Shawn Belle - 130 000 (before he was traded recently)
Ben Ondrus - 130 000
Greg Stewart - 105 000
Richard Petiot - 105 000
That is only 1 AHL team and some teams have more high salaries. So tell me again how the average is only 65 thousand across the AHL again?
