So satisfied at the moment, but we have to have this game tomorrow. Need a win against an Eastern conference team.

I agree.

The kids on this team can play hockey. They aren't getting ice time, but from what I have seen, I am impressed. Blum stepping into the 3/4 role has been gigantic for this team. He has some slick puck-handling skills.

Geoffrion/Halischuk/Spaling - these kids have a lot of room to grow. Spaling may top out as a defensive specialist, but he has infinitely better hands than Smithson ever did from that role. Geoffrion is a tough, smart player. He plays the Predator game to a tee. Halischuk is showing why he wasn't a throw in on the Arnott deal. He could begin filling Ward's role on this team very soon.

Speaking of Ward - the man has come to life with the streaking hot duo of Legwand and Erat.

totally agree with everything you say on these kids enoch. blum, geoffrion, spaling, halischuk have all stepped up when needed most. could see a long term role for all 4 of these guys. spaling for smithson, halischuk for ward, blum for bouillon, geoffrion for goc. all realistic possibilites.

i cann't help but think that blum is our 3rd best defenseman right now, and he's played 13 flipping games, lol

I haven't been on np.com since they switched formats after the sale of the team.

Blum has been incredible, if Josi is really as good as him, we could be incredibly hard to beat in the very near future.

Klein and Blum have looked great together, I wonder what Josi would look like with O'Brien.

If the Preds could have scheduled Detroit 82 games this season they would be tops in the entire league

Yet 82 against Edmonton and they would be worst... what a strange team.

I look at the near future of the team and I love the way it looks. The center position has epic depth. Defenseman wise we might have a couple of young players who can take over for Hamhuis in Klein and Blum. But the future is now and things are setting up in my mind very well.

I was also shocked at how ********* detroit fans have become, whinning over Weber crushing Eaves. If you don't want the big dog to bite you, don't rattle his cage... The ones taking shots at Nashville as a city are a joke, not many places in the U.S. worse than Detroit.

And man, did he crush Eaves....

lol he did crush him.. not the smartest hockey play in the world, but still great to see the attitude, especially after it all worked out ok.. it is funny to see some wings fans crying about weber hitting eaves like it was totally unprovoked while failing to mention eaves had crosschecked weber down in an obvious interference 10 seconds before.

reading other teams game day threads in general you can tell who the kids are, and the ones who have rarely, if ever, been outside of about a hundred mile radius from their birthplace.

always love to read other teams game day threads after we win. right from the first post. that way you see the pregame optomism, the joy over any goal they've scored, the indignation of something the preds have done, followed by the anger and disgust as they fall behind. inevitably followed by the 'man do i hate nashville' comments and 'they suck, all they do is play defense' mantras. lol

Weber scared me at the end of the first. First with his headhunting of Eaves, and then after we kill off the bad penalty, he and sk elbow sammich a wing player. I do not know if he is trying to push and see how much he can get away with now, or if he is losing it at the wrong moments. It didn't beat us last night, but with so little room for error, someone needs to tell him when to temper that anger sword. it is gonna bite us eventually, and I don't fear it in a game, I fear it when he sits a game or two to have his attitude checked for killing guys without the puck.

He needs to spend a summer with Scott Stevens. Stevens learned how to temper his game after trying to fight nearly every shift early on in his career. Granted, Weber is bigger and stronger than Stevens was and that says a lot. I am not worried about him having the attitude. Honestly, if you're the other team, do you try and get under his skin and take one of his punishing hits or do you try to keep him subdued and calm? Either way, you're screwed as an opponent. His legend will only grow once he puts someone thru the glass with a monster check. It's only a matter of time.

303, good to see you around. It's funny that fans of other teams say we only play defense but we play one of the most aggressive forechecks in the league. I love watching it because it creates turnovers. I also thought our transition game looked as good as it has in a long while. Making quick crisp passes out of the zone and then another one and we were attacking. Shades of Detroit which was quite nice to see.

Nice to see Trotz rolling Legwand and Erat as much as he could get away with last night. Both those guys have been stellar for a while now. I think it's funny how so many were opposed to them being together and now that they've been reunited it's been working very well.

And to the people who thought Tootoo doesn't belong on this team, he brings an intangible that no one else brings. He brings energy and a physicality that we lacked with him out of the lineup and his game has matured. He sure can kill the gnat on the goalies chest but he's playing smart, picking his spots with big hits and using his speed to his advantage. He's not a top 6 guy but at the same time, he's a valuable bottom 6 guy.

Great game to see last night before I head back down south. 4 games this week and 6 points, can't ask for much more than that.

He didn't scare me. I love that part of his game. He just needs to remember to keep the logical part of his brain working (pick his spots better). I would love for him to play around that line or "edge" as Trotz called it yesterday in one of the interviews more often. It pumps the entire team up. Yes, we take more chances, but I think the chances for reward are much greater. Early in the preds' years, they would play with that kind of piss and vinegar all the time. I think thats what Predators Hockey really is because the energy it gives us fuels the skating game that we have to play to be successful. Go Preds!!!

I think Weber is playing with a chip on his shoulder because of the situations. He punched Tyutin at the end of a game in which he got boarded quite clearly. He owned Eaves last night after Eaves pulled some cheap move on him. A few seasons back we all remember Lilja's cheap shot on Webs that ended in a bad concussion and a season missed on Lilja's part. He needs to keep himself in check as best as possible, but I'm sure he's simply sick of watching his team being taken advantage of (see also: Patric Hornqvist). To me it's refreshing to have a captain who will physically dominate another team for pulling this kind of crap. I just don't want him to respond with some dirty plays himself. Take a roughing or interference here or there, but please don't intentionally hurt people (I'd rather not see anyone hurt at all, but it's hockey).

Obviously Trotz does like to see a tight defensive system, but we also have one of the most aggressive forechecks in the league. Unfortunately we have no one who can finish, so when we play a good game the other team's fan see our team with the puck so often but without any goals. They assume we aren't playing offense, instead of accepting that we just suck at it.

Welcome back, 303. I've missed your input after games

Weber's attitude doesn't scare me. It's exactly what this team needs. Since it happens rarely enough I don't think it will cause that much disruption but if starts to happen more often it could.

Loved that he protected Rinne, even if it was also retaliation for the earlier crosscheck.
