Callahan, Dubinsky, and Lundqvist were great in this game.....

Thought it was clear that Staal was missed sorely on a few plays including Jordan's goal.

I'm pumped!! BIG win.

POTG: Lundqvist, kept us in the game and the 2nd goal was off the crossbar, he got beat but it barely got in.

The Good: Eminger, if there was a 2nd player of the game, he was very good, physical, and covering for Girardi most of the night. Sauer was very good, Fedotenko was physical and solid defensively, Gaborik going to the net for the goal, The pack line was solid all around with Dubinsky dominating at times, Anisimov with a beautiful goal from a Callahan pass, and Cally's huge 3rd goal on the PP.

The Bad: The officials with the garbage call on Sauer, the non call for the punch to the back of the head of Girardi by cooke, and no retaliation penalty to Letang, at least they called the cooke headshot correctly and the hi-stick that cut Cally. Torts really took too long to adjust the forecheck from 3 men pressure, to 1 man pressure in the 2nd period. Even Eddie O said it which was amazing that NBC could even pick such a flaw up when they weren't drooling over the Pens. In the 3rd with a goal lead Gilroy was rushing up ice and we still had 2-3 men on the forecheck, that is unacceptable with less than 8 minutes with a 1 goal lead Torts.

The Redden: Girardi, both goals were his fault, especially the 1st one where he was trying to shadow Kovalev not play his position. The PP looked awful until Gaborik scored and the shortie could have been killer, lucky we came back.

Great comeback win, 1st four game win streak of the year at the right time. Rangers and Chelsea win very hard games against the Pens and Man City, I need to go buy some scratch-offs as today must be my lucky day!

Cally and Hank for me.

The edge goes to Hank, he wasnt even supposed to play. Torts challenged him and he came up huge. Played within himself, his rebound control was good and he stood tall with traffic in front. Made some big saves late and on some deflections as well. Neal came very close a few times. The last save before Steps goal was the save of the game IMO.

Much thanks from Tampa guys. Division has slipped away a bit but I'll take 4th place home ice advantage.

Callahan is baller. Big fan of his.

cooke needs to be taken out back and put down.

how many times is he going to be able to threaten someones career without an indefinite suspension? he's dangerous out there.

The sad thing is that since (at least it appears) McD isn't injured, he'll suffer not as long of a suspension as if McD was taken off on a stretcher. I'll never understand that. just because the guy isn't seriously injured doesn't mean that a blatantly flagrant action - such as this one - shouldn't receive a lengthy suspension. What if all it took was his elbow to be down another half inch and connect with McD to give him a serious concussion? would have looked exactly the same. i just don't get it. IMO if it's a blatant, obviously intent to injure situation it shouldn't matter if the guy was hurt or not

The Good: They answered Matt Crook's head shot on the score board where it counts. You can always send a message in other ways later on down the road.
The Bad: pass
The Redden: The short handed goal. I was in a fit of rage when that happened.

I hope you mean Gilroy as MDZ is with the pack and out for 4-6 weeks with a broken finger!

You also gotta love the way this team battles back and deals with adversity. They give up what could have been a backbreaking shorthanded goal but respond with 2 of their own, then kill off a huge penalty at the end that leads to Stepan's goal.

Huge 2 points today, especially with Staal out.

We have two very winnable games at home this week with Florida and Ottawa coming up, 4 points would be huge, and we can't afford to get less than 3.

Hearing the Rangers are closer to MTL than Buffalo was music to my ears. A little breathing room is nice for the ulcer this team gives me.

Milbury said he should get 8 games and thats coming from a Rangers HATER and a guy who describes Cooke as "sandpaper" not a piece of crap. We will have to see what he gets.

After Cally's goal I went on a profanity-laced tirade directed at the Pens the likes of which I had never before conjured. It felt good, but not quite as good as that win.The Good: Everyone and their Aunt Sally, specifically the dirty birds finally getting what they deserve in the form of an eight and a half minute Rangers powerplay, and the Rangers PK with 4 phenomenal kills.

The Bad: Girardi is a lost puppy without Staal

The Redden: Matt Cooke, but that's ok because my bro McDonagh stuck with it and picked up a key assist.

My 3 stars

The Penalty Kill by Committee (so I voted other)

Ryan Callahan

Henrik Lundqvist
You must have been channeling me! lol

Lundqvist and Callahan I believe should share the honors. Something about Cally scoring the go ahead goal with a gushing nose clinched it for me.

It's funny how Callahan wears #24 and Cooke wears #24, yet they are completely opposite players.

Quietly we've won 6 of 7, and are sitting in a pretty good spot right now. Honestly, missing it now would be Mets'sing it up big time.

Playoff spot is def ours to lose, keep up the solid play and ride it into the playoffs.
