Where is Pierre Hedin?

Where is he now? Do we still have his right? Until when?

He played in the SEL this year and had 7 points in 31 games. That's a somewhat dissapointing season.

We have his rights forever I think but I don't think we'll ever see him in North America again.

He's capable of playing in the NHL, but certainly not a star player or anything. But he isn't overly commited to playing in NA and he's not good enough to have a team go out of their way to bring him over.

Pierre Hedin was also injured while playing in the SEL .. I can't remeber but I think he broke his arm or something like that ..

The NHLPA site has Hedin as unsigned at the moment ..

i think he is commited to play in NA...the NHL, but not any minors...obviously the defense prospects of the Leafs are fully packed and he may never return to NA again...but I do hope the Leafs trading him to another team if there is no spot for him here.

He definitely had an off-season in the SEL, he's capable of much more.
I've been rather disappointed with his development over the last 2yrs or so.
He's still got 3rd pairing NHL upside though, so I wouldn't give up on him yet. Need to play with a bit more intensity IMHO, and I still question his desire to play in North America outside of the NHL.

What was disappointing about his first season over here? The 04/05 season was disappointing, he should have put up more, but I can't see what's to get down on about 03/04. He was one of, if not, the best defensemen in St. John's and didn't look out of place in his three games in Toronto. I thought it was a very encouraging year for him, he looked like he was poised to take a spot on the team if not for the lockout.

You will never see him in Toronto, he's not going to play for the Marlies when he can get three times more playing in Sweden. Same with most Euro's especially Russians they will stay in Europe rather than play in the AHL for less than 100,000
