Just saw the posts up there, I didnt want to make the MLS sound so bad but I think playing in the Scottish league (like Maurice Edu of Rangers) or Turkish (Jozy Altidore) and facing quality league teams and having a chance to maybe get in the Champions league is something all US born players should do.

By age 25, most US players should head across the pond. Also it was reported a few months ago on an addidas tour Atletico Madrid wanted to buy Brek Shea to play centerback and phenom Juan Agudelo on the spot. Personally im hoping someone buys him off RBNY in the summer for a large sum. The US NEEDS him to develop into a big time striker.

Also, anyone catch the LA/SEA game last night? I was pretty upset Omar Gonzo. couldnt play, if he gets some footwork help he's for sure going to be a NT CB

My system currently only goes up to 993, so I don't know if that means I'll need new equipment or not.

Any Union STHs here?

I took my now 5 year old son to a game last year and he loved it so much that I got season tickets for the family this year.

I read somewhere that it's being added to the sports tier, but I don't know if that's 100% confirmed. Since FSN is currently on the sports tier, it would make sense.

I'm just now noticing the blurb at the bottom about the areas this applies to. I'm in the Plymouth Meeting service area, so I am no unsure if I will get this. Also, does anybody know the deal with CableCARDs?

That section must be a blast, but not exactly appropriate for a 5 year old!

I really hope tonight was a sign of things to come for Coburn. He ramped his game up like this last year during the playoffs, and if he does this again I believe it may be the sign that he has turned the corner in his development.

I was really high on him when we got him and he played very well until his injury in the playoffs. He seemed to take a large step back after that, but if he continues to put games together like the ones he has played this past week or so, then he may be well on his way to becoming what we thought he could be.

I mean this dude has ridiculous natural athletic ability. When he plays mean and physical he really is something to behold. He has just brute strength..he tosses guys all over the place like its nothing. And his skating ability is incredible for a man of his size.

He has all the physical tools to be a dominant dman in this league. If he can learn enough about how to play the position from the coaches, and Pronger and Timonen, he could be our #1 down the road.... Probably not scoring wise though.

They only had 2 road wins last year and one of them was in Houston.

Next up is Vancouver.

Vancouver exploited a terrible Toronto defense and they were playing their first league match in front of a sold out home stadium. Their first road game won't go as smoothly.

I expect a comfortable win for the Union. As mentioned, Vancouver's captain and centre back, Jay Demerit, won't be available... that's a huge blow to the Whitecaps. Their two best ball controlling midfielders, Davide Chiumiento and Russell Teibert, were both substituted due to injury concerns. This game should be a more realistic match of what Vancouver should expect for the rest of the season.

Free agent I believe, they also have this kid Omar Salgado, striker, 1st overall pick last year. A lot of people say he's going to be better than Chicarito, was actually playing in the same Mexican league but got kicked out because he left the Mexican U-20 to play for US U-20's at 16 years old.

That being said, he can't play apparently because a minor cannot work in a different country.

When a capped player comes to MLS, there is an allocation order to determine which teams get first dibs. Expansion teams automatically go to the top of the list, so Vancouver had first crack at Demerit.

I've been saying for a while now, I think they're a playoff team. They upgraded everywhere. I expect their home record to be one of the best in MLS.
