Michael Sauer is rapidly moving up my favourite players list. Rag-dolls Kunitz, steps between a few Pens and Hank as if to say "want some?" and he's so damn consistent.

Lundqvist was fantastic too. If he's off his game then there's never a turnaround, Cooke or no Cooke.

POTG- Dubi (simply because he created 4 goals tonight, blocked shots, one crucial faceoffs.
The good- cally, Sauer, Mcd, Eminger, Hank, Gaborik.
Bad-Wolski, Prospal, Girardi, Christ.

the good: ryan callahan, mike sauer for literally tossing kunitz out of hanks crease in that 3rd period scrum on that pens PP, dubinsky for his continued strong puck possession, and of course hank for standing tall when his team needed it most
the bad: matt cooke, as a hockey fan you hate to see that, if i'm a pens fan im not too pleased to see this jack** cost them 2 points. LOLZ at mario for standing on his self-made pedestal and whining to the league after the isles/pens debacle
the redden: bob gainey, still cant believe we got mcdonagh in the gomez deal. he was great today, made a couple strong plays on defense, in particular on neal in the 1st period (obviously pens fans complain about lack of penalty) and on kennedy (bad call on refs part for it was strong hockey play IMO)

POTG: The go-ahead goal for Pitt was a little soft, so I have to give this to my boy Cally

The Good: Pack line, Gabby with the GARBAGE GOAL.... WHAAAAA?

The Bad: Why did we have to pick up McCabe? Couldn't we have easily told one of our guys to shoot more?

The Redden: the first 2 mins of the major penalty. Are you kidding me there, Rangers?

Yeah, it seemed like we always played like s*** there

I agree. He needs to shoot the puck more IMO. Also I thought the better play on the third goal was to his left, Gilroy was wide open. He never saw him but it worked out since his pass deflected to Callahan who scored.

Agreed, but honestly, you know that if he passed to Gilroy, Gilroy's stone-hands would've found a way to miss the net there or shoot it right into Fleury.

If it's any consolation, the game should be shown in it's entirety at 2 tomorrow on NHL Network.

Front page is updated as of 11:25 PM EST.

New-fangled ESPN youtube highlights to boot. I recommend reading The Rodent's blog entry "Thing 1 and Thing 2."

I think we really may have something with McDonagh and Sauer.

It's at the point now where I just hope we can keep Staal, Girardi, Sauer, and McDonagh around for as long as possible. Even if we get nothing out of Del Zotto, that's fantastic.

As for the 3rd pairing, just try like hell to get any type of offensive defenseman for cheap. Keeping McCabe would be great, but unlikely.

im with you on that, i'm a huge fan of mcdonagh, still cant believe good ole' bob gainey gave him to us! as for sauer, well to say hes been solid is an understatement. IMO torts has done a great job with these youngsters, the production we've gotten out of dubi, callahan, AA, stepan, mcd, sauer, staal etc. has been incredible, its been a fun season thus far.
cant wait to see what the undertaker has to bring the table

nothing in particular, NHL clubs will keep injuries as DL as possible around this time heading into the playoffs, NBC announced right before puck drop hanks neck is feeling good, but surprisingly marc staal was a late scratch due to a body injury and that was all that we have heard

Not that I've found, but good point, I added all of the stuff from NBC's website to the front page.

Surprised you made no mention of it, but I noticed you so didn't get the credit you deserved for a hell of a premonition you had in the Game thread at the start of the 3rd period. Just read it now, but let me take you back to your post:

Ahhhhh, so ya missed Step's goal, but good nonetheless!

Gaborik, Cally, and Dubi with goals.

Let's do this ****.
Now that's some foresight ya got there! Just wanted to give credit where due. Huge pat on the back to ya!

Only vid is of Torts' presser but there's some different quotes from the Rangers about the Cooke incident and the game itself.
