Hopefully this kid is up for the year.
White reminds me of Doug Risborough when he first came into the league. Not that big but will take on all comers

He seems to be able to stay on his feet against stronger opponents. Determined guy. Spunky player too. And the Habs needed more hair in their lineup. With Palushaj, Sopel and White we are getting there.

The teams needs more Ryan Whites. Tough customers who can actually play a regular shift in the NHL.

As much as i hate the Bruins, i wish Montreal had a guy like Shawn Thornton to go along with White.

I actually kinda like Thornton. He is a tough guy and a fighter. But he is also a good forechecker and scores now and then. And to me he doesnt seem to have that volatile nature where he actually goes out looking for fights like some guys on their team. Seems like a loyal guard dog.

I agree with all that. I like his aggressive nature and goes looking for the hits. I find a lot of Montreal players finish their checks just cause they should not because it sets a tone or creates energy. We thought Moen would be more like this. With this said, i don't think he'd fit in with Montreal as it goes against Montreal philosophy.

He doesn't have the speed. But I think he would do alright as a fourth liner. One slower guy isn't so bad. In any case, he would be way more effective than Laraque was.

I didnt mean in terms of speed ( or maybe i mis read what you meant) but Montreal tends to stear clear of of the pro active aggressiveness that a guy like Thornton brings. That was why i said he doesn't fit Montreal philosophy.

My bad. You never know though. They might be considering it now. Maybe even at the deadline, but those d-men were bigger needs.

Told my girlfriend exactly the same thing tonight after his fight. I think the biggest difference is that White does not hang around the clubs in Brossard that much, he's not afraid of a few scars in his face...

Lapierre had the playboy attitude, kind of like how Latendresse spent too much time on the red carpets, and not enough thinking about parking his butt in front of the net.

I think Ryan White is our Chris Neil. He should play that role for our team for years to come. Am I way off with that comparison?

No. I agree. He's not as big as Neil, but I think there's still more weight to come for White. Only 22, but he's a tough one. I can't see how he goes down after what's he's done for us this year. He should be playing before Pyatt for sure and probably even Pouliot.

One of the bonus of all these injuries is we're finding we have actual depth, which is nice.

I'm certainly anxious to see White and Mara in the lineup against Boston. White has set the tone now for a couple of games. He's a welcome addition and seems like a very confident player too. Thoroughly enjoyed his game yesterday.

Yep. I don't want to trash Pyatt because he does a lot of the little things right, but I think he is ideal as a 13th forward. He is speedy, he kills penalties, and he knows the Martin system well. The difference is that White represents a very pressing team need. I think White earned a full time job. Pouliot is just very inconsistent, which is very frustrating!!!

He looks like the old school hockey player, he's got the hair and the face and a missing tooth it looks like? Either way, he fights and is all over the ice.

He's in my good books.

Obviously he is nowhere near as talented offensively, but in terms of the intangibles he kind of reminds me of Wendel Clark.

I thought White was overhyped around here and I was wrong.

Starting to really like this kid and also starting to understand why they traded Lapierre.

Kid is another one of those types of players you need to win.

You can't win being soft as a *****.
