If we're considering these goalies we might aswell consider Markström, Lindbäck and Enroth depending on situation.
In the moment I wrote this Lindbäck was projected to WIN first round in Stanley Cup an thus not be available. And Markström and Enroth are sure talented but not proven on NHL level just yet. Liv and Larsson has been very good in Europe this season. The situation might be that one of the NHL goalies are either Gustavsson OR Lundqvist if he is available. Both Markström and Enroth is in the picture, though.
I hope they bring a lot of the young guns from the NHL, and also the young players from the SEL. That would make the WC so much more interesting.
Imagine...
Huselius-Berglund-Steen
Tedenby-Josefson-Paajarvi (imagine the speed of this line)
Weinhandl-Krúger-Omark
Silfverberg-Pahlsson-Andersson
Karlsson-Enstrom
Johansson-Ekholm
A.Larsson-Rundblad
That team would be so much fun to watch!
I imagine the team will include some older guys from Elitserien though, like for example Martin Thörnberg, and that Mårts gets a couple of no thanks from, for example Påhlsson and Huselius.
I hope they bring Robert Nilsson if he plays like he did in the first tournament, where he actually was pretty awesome.
It's always nice to watch your games because your coach is bold enough to pick those young players. Well, Swedes have much larger material than Finns, but still...
Would someone tell me a bit about that David Rundblad? Huge points in Elitserien. He seems to be great on offensive zone.. What about defensive zone?

He takes a lot of chances, and sacrifices defence for offence. That won't fly in the NHL, or even in the WC.
I doubt Mårts would do that to the U18 team. Would be pretty special though, to play WC before WJC (not counting players who didn't play WJC and played WC while older).
and alfredsson's been hurt for a while. Low odds he comes back before the end of the NHL season. Even if he's ready for the WC, not sure it's the best idea to use a guy coming off a long layoff.
Disappointed to read that Calgary prefer to see Backlund in the AHL playoffs rather than play in the World Championships. I hate to see NHL organisations stop European players from representing their country.
I definitely don't hope it becomes a trend among NHL teams. If he wants Backlund on the team, Mårts should definitely take the fight.
How about Joakim Lindstrom?
Seemed to be a dominant player this season; seems like he shoulc be able to contribute at the WC's.
I've seen rumors about Ottawa signing him for next year....any truth to that?
Our defense should be good and mobile that's for sure. I'm thinking Enstrom, Rundblad, Erixon, Ekholm, Johansson and Karlsson as a top6. Maybe add Tallinder if he wants to come to get another solid defensive piece.
