Eriksson - concussion - out until further notice.

Vincour as well, most likely.

With Burish, Vincour, and Eriksson gone. I'd say it most likely is done. They just had to raise our hopes when we were preparing for Adam Larsson, didn't they?!!

And Brad Richards...pick your pace up or GTFO!

Craw on Loui:

Quote:
“We’re hopeful that Loui is going to be alright. He is not feeling good right now and we’ll see where he is at tomorrow. It’s always the next day that you’ve got to look to."
Highly doubt we'll see him for a bit.

I want blood in that last Sharks game. Heatley, Thornton, and Boyle all deserve hits to the head to match what we were given today.

I don't....I just want a win, even if the season is lost at that point. Let's not get carried away here.

According to Mark, Crawford said they will be taking tomorrow off to rest, then practice Thurs morning before the Hawks.

He and Vincour are both probable and likely game-time decisions. I'd guess yes on both of them (which given they were dazed illustrates the problems with the NHL's reliance on "concussion-like symptoms" as a legitimate medical diagnosis, but whatever).

Not surprising. With 5 days to rest afterwords, it makes sense they'd let them take the game off to be 100% next week. Unless Loui has a serious concussion we haven't heard about yet, I'm betting we see them both vs the Ducks.

Still mad Raycroft's not starting tomorrow. I doubt we see him at all until the home and home at Colorado.

Eriksson skated today and felt "pretty good" according to Crawford. Not playing tonight, obviously, but could be back next week. Good news.

If Raycroft didn't start against Minnesota, there was never going to be a chance that he'd start against Philly. Now that the chance has passed us by, I am quite positive he plays in the home edition of the home-and-home against the Avs, seeing that his last two road performances (vs Calgary, vs Boston) have been less-than-satisfactory. Need I mention the 5-0 loss @ Colorado with him in net?

Time to call up Larsen?

Joe said on the Ticket last night he's pretty confidence Loui will be back Weds.

Apparently Sutherby was injured yesterday and not a healthy scratch. Not that it makes much difference.

I'd guess Larsen probably does get the call, but it'll depend on whether they want him to play Tuesday in Cedar Park and then come up right afterwards or if they want him to get in a practice with the team. It's getting to be about that time when he should join the team anyway.

How come Woywitka has to be one of the durable ones?

I wonder if the stars would rather call up a bigger guy who is not so easy to push around as larsen. Perhaps Fortunus, Ludwig or even Lukowich.

By avoiding any physical contact whatsoever.

All those players suck, would rather see Larsen get #2 PP time over Woywitka.

It amazes me Sutherby gets injured so much for only playing 30 games a year.

Apparently Grossman could have a serious knee injury. Sounds like it's not a reoccurrence of the hip flexor issue.

Something new from DefendingBigD

Quote:
Bob Sturm, he of Bob and Dan fame on Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket just indicated on the air that he's heard that Nicklas Grossman has a sprained MCL and that he could miss the remainder of the regular season.

This is not information that we have seen or heard previously anywhere else so we're going to take it with a grain of salt for the moment as it's possible that Bob jumped the gun on releasing this kind of thing...? The DMN and ESPN Dallas are likely talking to Marc Crawford as I type this and could have more official word soon.

Grossman went through some tests yesterday including an MRI and evidently there may have been fears that he tore his MCL and/or ACL but according to The Ticket that is not the case.

That's bad news for the Stars who desperately need to win the majority of their remaining games to ensure playoff games for Grossman to get back into, but good (bordering on great) news for next season as a tear could have derailed Nick Grossman's 2011-2012 season as well.

Meanwhile he also had word on Skrastins laceration that sounded gruesome, though Marc Crawford wouldn't rule Karlis out for tomorrow's game yesterday. It's likely that both Fistric and Lukowich play in his stead. Brad Lukowich did clear re-entry waivers and practiced with the team today.

We're still waiting for a Loui Eriksson update. Stay tuned.

Edit: Looks like Mark confirmed it.

Quote:
@andrewsdsp Nicklas Grossman has a knee sprain (MCL) and will be "out a bit," according to Stars coach Marc Crawford.

Full updates on everyone.

Quote:
Stars coach Marc Crawford said today that Grossman has a knee sprain.

"It's not the worst one, but it is significant. He'll be out for a bit," Crawford said. "I don't know quite how long, but we did get good news that it isn't the worst kind. It's not the anterior, it's medial and those heal a little bit quicker."

As for Skrastins, who suffered a cut on his thigh in Satuday's game against Philadelphia, he is doubtful for tomorrow. Crawford did say Skrastins could play this weekend.

Loui Eriksson (concussion) went through full practice today, looked good and is still day-to-day, according to Crawford.

"Loui looks like he is heading in the right direction," said Crawford. "Again, we want to be cautious with that. It's a day to day thing and we'll see where he is tomorrow."

Adam Burish (leg) is improving and will be seeing doctors tomorrow.

Brian Sutherby (back spasms) is out for tomorrow's game.

Er, Crawford is full of it. Ligament tears don't "heal" because there is no blood flow there. They can scar over, but they are always weaker than they started.

On the upside, MCLs can be braced and played through once the swelling goes down (think Brett Hull in 1999 - one of his trio of nasty leg injuries was a sprained MCL). Generally they won't do this unless it's a partial, and not complete, tear, and that sounds like the situation here. And they're not nearly the beast to recover from in the offseason that an ACL is.

We could see him very late in the season if they want to push him or in the playoffs if they get there if his knee remains stable enough when braced.
