Now wtf are we gonna do? We can handle losing Pronger down the stretch, but not Big J....

So much for our good seeding coming into the playoffs.

Needless to say, with his not being able to fight for a long while when he returns, he is rendered useless to he team... A real shame for the man, but I really don't see it as having much effect on the Flyers, if any at all... and he wasn't going to play in the Postseason anyway.

Honestly, I see it as a positive for the team so long as he still gets to be around them off the ice. For him, personally, it sucks...he is definitely a good dude, but all things considered I'd just rather he not be playing.

He is a great guy. Took the time to sign an autograph and have a chit chat with my girl before he sat down to have lunch with his family.

Understatement on my part. Yeah, he's definitely an awesome guy. There are stories all over about all the great stuff he's done for fans, which is terrific.

I'm going to refrain from saying something sarcastic and say sucks for Jody. He truly seems like a good guy.

It sucks, yet it's good. I still do like that he keeps people honest.

I guess he's not playing a game for the rest of the year seeing as how he shouldn't be in the line-up come playoff time.

I'd also like to agree on what everyone else was saying about how great of a guy he is. He's a character guy you would love to have in your locker room.

Sucks for Shelley. Hope it won't affect his fighting abilities, since we have him on board for two more years (wasn't it something similar that made Fedoruk almost quit fighting, or am I completely off base here?).

Who do you think Z will/should aim at in the next practice?

Shelley is a great guy, and it really sucks that he's injured. But honestly, having him out of the lineup has more benefits than having him in as I'm sure you all know. It sucks that it had to be via injury, but I really don't like him as a hockey player.

Shelley practiced today (March 31) for the first time since the injury.

Quote:
WELLS FARGO CENTER – With stitches still in place and the left side of his face swollen and jaundiced, Jody Shelley looked anything but comfortable.

Yet the Flyers enforcer was thrilled to be on the ice with his teammates, for the first time since March 21 when he left practice after taking a puck to the face in a tip-in drill.

“It’s one of those things where when you’re left behind even for one day, one practice you feel like you’re a little bit out of it,” Shelley said. “It means a lot to be able to practice with the guys and you just get fired up.”

The puck broke the fourth-liner’s orbital bone, which required a surgical procedure. His stitches and swollen face are still evidence of that a full week later.

“It looks terrible, but it’s not bad,” Shelley said. “The pain is good. They did a great job fixing it apparently. It’s just so great to be out there skating with the guys.”

Although the timetable has pegged his return to game action for three weeks from now, Shelley was on the ice for Thursday’s morning skate, wearing a full-face shield.
