I bet Raymond is pissed. He was all like "sweet I don't have to play with that puck hog Kesler!" Now he's all like "stoopid baby ".

He doesn't need to because he's been shooting blanks for the past couple of months

Oreskovich has indeed been called up as an emergency. Samuelsson is out day-to-day and Glass is not ready to go.

Sounds like Glass's injury is more serious than initially thought.

Or something of that nature, maybe without Tambellini. I'd just like to see what Higgins can do at 3LC, but I don't know who would best suit him for wingers yet.
I would do this. Depth/talent where it should be is more important than faceoffs/a natural center, IMO.

We are f***ed if we have Bolduc/Rypien as our 4th line center and Lapierre as our 3rd. Just f***ed.

obviously this is a strange situation, and he would be stepping onto a legitimate cup contender...so the expectations are sky high in that regard. and he very well may not be ready... but at some point you have to give him a chance to really show whether he's able to produce or not. and it seems like now would be a good time...
Wrong time of year; he had his chance earlier. Best time to assess his fit is in the pre-season, and in the early part of the schedule.

Nice luxury to have this year; letting players heal 100% before slotting them back into the line up.

AV's quote on Bolduc today does not make it sound like he's a short-term fix:

Quote:
Initially, he did some good things. He was coming along, and unfortunately, twice he got hurt, so if he can stay healthy, with his size and the way he can skate, I think he can help us on that line, and we'll give him the opperunity to do it.
Doesn't sound like Higgins will get a trial at centre in the near future.

Not surprising; Bolduc was obviously AV's choice from day one of training camp, and would probably have had a season long try-out if not for his injuries. It's still a potential major downgrade from Lapierre as the fourth line centre though as Bolduc really has minimal offensive upside (Lapierre has at least hit 15 goals in a NHL season as well as having a career faceoff rate above 50%).

If Bliznak could get his faceoffs into the 50%+ range I'd much rather have him than Bolduc. I like his speed and hustle on the forecheck.

Bolduc is a better skater than Bliznak IMO.

If I was Hodgson I'd be doing everything I can to light up the scoresheet in Manitoba right now. He needs to start putting up multiple point games with regularity.

He gets on the playoff roster, he's got a solid shot at making opening day roster next season. If he doesn't, his odd of starting with the team next year are long.

Why? Every season starts fresh and we've seen that if you have a good camp and pre-season, Gillis/AV will make room for you on the roster.

I dunno, maybe he is but if thats the case its not by much, if at all. I just see Bliznak as more of a puck hound (ie Hansen) and Bolduc as maybe a bit bigger and more of a physical plugger...either way I wish we didn't have to use either of them.

That's what they say. But as we've seen in the past (with Lukowich for example), cap hit is a big consideration.

But with how close Gillis likes to get to the cap, finding space for a $1.7m cap hit is a pretty tall order. That would need to be budgeted for.

Bolduc is bigger, faster and more aggressive than Bliznak. But Bliznak, IMO, has the higher hockey IQ and better puck ability, two things I'd like on the fourth line.

Bolduc is much better than Bliznak. If not for injury he would be a 4th line regular.

Not likely. If he was going to be a 4th line regular there would have been no need for Lapierre. Bolduc is a servicable plug, nothing more.

Any guesses as to the forward lineup tomorrow with all the injuries up front? Here's what I'm thinking:

D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Burrows
Higgins - Kesler - Raymond
Torres - Lapierre - Hansen
Tambellini - Bolduc - Oreskovich

^ This is what I think we'll see tomorrow, although I wouldn't be opposed to Raymond staying on the 4th line and Tambellini up with Kesler on the 2nd line. Tambellini had all his success this season with Kesler so it makes sense that that's where he'll finally break out of his funk.
