Playoff tickets

Did anyone have any luck with them going on sale 15 minutes ago? The internet didn't seem to be working (the wait time just kept going up and up), so I tried to the phone and got through on the 11th try.

I figured round 1 would be gobbled up fast, so I went for game A of round 2. Got 2 seats in section 20-something? lol I don't remember which section, might have been 205 in the corner. 7th row.

That ticketmaster automated phone thing is quite annoying.

I'm a very happy Hawks fan

Depending on who we play, I expect significant ticket surpluses and low prices come the day before, day of the game.

Thanks

I just looked up my order number and my section is 221, row 7. In the euphoria of getting tickets I forgot to write down the section.

Grats...which series and which game? If its 2nd round - game 1 then we'll be 3 rows from each other.

I still need:

a) The Hawks to make the playoffs
b) Them to get past the first round.

I'm confidant they will do it

Barring some unexpected upsets (and they can happen), I would think if the Hawks make it to the 2nd round they will be facing Detroit, Vancouver or San Jose, with Vancouver the most likely I would think. Which would make my tickets game 3 in most scenerios.

Dunno about lowball prices.Whatever happens it's probably the only playoff game I'll make it to this year. It will be enough of a chore to get a night off work for this game, since I work nights.

I got 2 in 324 for 1st round game D. Figured it was worth paying $12 in fees they'll keep for the chance at a Grand or so if a game 7 at home were to happen (obviously without a 4 seed it won't). Odds are I'd sell if it did happen because of classes and travel and such. There's still a decent amount for that game available.

Tried for 300 level tickets for opening game. Waited 15 minutes for nothing.

Gonna play it by ear. I wouldn't even mind standing room only for a playoff game.

Send a message via AIM to brtriad
I'm also hoping to get a few the day before. They always release tickets sporadically.

Last year the team held back a bunch of tickets for the first round, (probably planning to sell them at highly marked up prices on the secondary market) then ended up having to dump them at face on the day before / day of games.

Selling at face is basically the worst-case scenario for them so I expect big hold-backs again this year.

I'll probably be selling my ticket for most of the playoff games again this year, so send me a PM if you're hard up.

I got 1 ticket in section 331 for Game C of the 2nd round. I am going out of town the week before Easter and don't want to chance it, so I am not going to even try for 1st round tickets...Plus, a friend of mine will most likely invite me to buy a single off of him that round anyways. There are still tickets available, fyi. I love how they let you see which seats are available.

I went to 3 playoff games in 2009 and 6 playoff games last year (games in all 4 rounds). There is nothing like playoff hockey!

just get there early and get a seat at one of the corner bars

I ended up buying 1 standing room ticket for game C round 1 the last one available, if i dont have to work ill try and find another one somewhere for a friend or the g/f whose a huge hawks fan too if i work and its during the week and cant get off ill end up selling it

so if any of you need an extra standing room ticket for the third home game and its a weekday game let me know if you need it

I did! I went to all 3 home games vs. Nashville, Game 1 vs. Vancouver, Game 3 vs. San Jose, and Game 5 vs. Philadelphia.

Game 5 vs. Nashville was the craziest moment, but I'd say the loudest moments in my attendance at sporting events is a tie between Byfuglien's game-winner in Game 3 vs. San Jose and the National Anthem during Game 5 vs. Philadelphia. Both times, I could hardly hear myself scream/cheer!

Game 5 against the Preds - Single best sporting event I have ever been to and I was at Jordan's shrug 3 point playoff performance.

The place went insane on Kane's tying goal and Hossa's OT winner.
