Only negative for Thomas (winning the Vezina) in my eyes is that he's got a much stronger team in front of him and he doesn't play as much as the horses do (Henrik, Price, Ward, etc...). 10 SO's or more should merit consideration and these last 15 games are pivotal in the quest for the V.

I agree, but I think this season Thomas has played a pretty respectable amount of games and he'll win it on his stats.

He's actually started 10 less games than Hank... hmm. I don't like it but I don't think anybody else deserves the Vezina more than him.

tim thomas wins the vezina, no questions asked.

Look at all the disbelievers. Heathens, how dare they not have faith in the King.

It's not that I lacked faith in the King, it was lack of faith in the D.

Well for him to even have a shot, I'd think he'd need to within the next 8 games, get to at the very least the top 5 in GAA and Save % and maybe get another couple shutouts.

congrats indeed!
I think I simply voted yes because he's on my fantasy league team and wanted it to be so.

I think this game put him in the top 5 GAA and Save%, according to someone in the PGT.

That, plus leading the league in shutouts, plus starting the amounts of games he does, plus all the other intangibles of the situation and I think if Thomas stats weren't so nuts Hank would finally get his props.

.937, that's why. (Thomas' save %.)

Otherwise i'd agree.

maybe if he finishes the season with most wins. otherwise, I still don't see it. awards are so stat based. he might get a nom, but I'm of course pulling for him to go gangbustas and earn 7 more shut outs which should be enough to lock that Vezina up.

Since 1975, only two goaltenders have had 11 or more shutouts. Martin Brodeur (11 in 2003-04 & 12 in 2006-07) and Dominik Hasek (11 in 2000-01 & 13 in 1997-98). It should be noted that all of these goaltenders won the Vezina in those seasons.

He hasn't even started 50 games and he's old as ****, make him play 65 or 70 and his stats would go to crap.
