Hard to overreact. It was already a well known fact that our goalie duo is ******.

Not really..we have two avg inconsistent goalies heading into the playoffs......nobody can tell me now that Vokoun would only be a slight improvement over our tandem....

laugh all you want. Noboby complains because they are loyal on this board, me included. Bob just started the last game of his season, Boucher isn't good enough to win it all and leighton can't be an option. I would have probably been planning the parade if we had won tonight, but the stats confirm the results we gave up probably 3-5 shots in the third and one goes in and they go 3 for 3 in the shootout we suck in net and won't win with what we have final.

Wow. The goalies really cost us tonight. Bob's goals were pretty weak, and then Boucher's tying goal was really bad too. Then what the hell was he thinking in the shoot out. They were in his head, not other reason to try the telegraphed poke check three times in a row.

This is the type of goaltending that you cannot have in the playoffs. It is just frustrating that this organization has needed a solid #1 goalie for ages now, and that is the only thing we never seem to get.

boosh would have had a better chance of stopping a S/O shot tonight if he had been on the bench.

People really still think Leighton is good?

Dude sucks. We stand no better chance of winning it all with him than with Bob or Boosh. Last night was an exceptionally bad game for both of them; they've been better than that all season.

Hands off the panic button, people. Leighton isn't going to fix it, and recalling him and losing him on reentry will only make our situation worse. At this point we're stuck with what we have until next year...and what we have isn't as bad as everyone's overreaction to a *ing shootout loss. They both blew last night, but it's one game.

It goes on and on and on...

I wish we still had that biron/nitty tandem! They were not great either but at least solid.
After each season I think that the situation in goal can only get better...but things just do not turn for the better. Even if the Flyers don't make it far in the playoffs I bet Homer will not address the issue in the off-season. He will bank on Bob turning into an elite starter next saison and as much as I hope that he's right, I fear that Bob can't handle such immense pressure.

Just watched the replay of the shootout. I usually am the defender of the goalies on this board, but good lord Boosh looked awful in the shootout. This is one of the few times that I will say that the guys in the net lost this game for the team.

Boosh = fairly steady, not spectacular
Bob = spectacular, not steady
steady AND spectacular makes a great goalie BUT how many are there, really?
Its easy to find vids of goalies making unbelievable saves - but I've seen the same goalies giving up bad ones.
Maybe they can get Bryz in the off-season.

Leighton is good?

The guys with the worst team in the AHL. GAA of 2.33 and 3 SO in only 24 games.

AHL. It's completely worthless to judge a goaltender in that league once they're beyond developmental stage. Michael Leighton has exhibited dominance at the AHL level before; it doesn't translate.

Are the Leighton defenders really comparing the AHL to the NHL now? I think that's the 3rd time I've seen that since last night.

Boosh and Bob; damned if you do, damned if you don't. Bob will be good one day, but not today or tommorrow
