After losses to OTT and BOS the answer may change for many.

As long as Henrik can carry the load this team will make the playoffs.

If we went 4-4 (8 Points), the Canes would need to go 7-1-1 to make the playoffs.

No reason to doubt the PO's if we keep playing like we have.

Wins against Ott and Boston would be absolutely huge.

A win against Ott would put us ay 86 points with 7 GR. They have been on fire, I say a win aginst OTT makes it very tough for CAR to catch us.

I've been saying 75% all season. I'd say it'll be a shock if we dont at this point.

If the Rangers get 6 points (2-4-2) or (3-5-0) The Canes still need to go on a crazy tear getting 13 of a possible 16 points.

The odds have us at like 96% right now. So it's looking pretty solid.

Not quite correct. We currently have 84 points and carolina has 78 with a game in hand. If we were to get 6 more points out of a possible 16, that would put us at 90 points. Carolina would need to get 12 points out of 18 to tie us, and would likely have us beat on the tiebreaker.

Though carolina has to play tampa 3 more times, and their other games are against washington, montreal, NYI, buffalo, detroit and atlanta. Not a very easy schedule to go 6-3 against.

I'd say we'd need to go at least 4-4 to feel comfortable. Our remaining schedule:

ottowa
@boston
@buffalo
@NYI
@philly
boston
atlanta
new jersey

4 of those teams have nothing left to play for but pride, and boston has struggled of late, though they beat the devils yesterday 4-1 and they are still in a battle for the division.

I feel pretty good about our chances when looking at it this way, but you could also look at it as, if we lose our next 2 and carolina wins their next 2, we are in trouble. The whole thing could turn on a dime.

I said most likely.

There are 8 games remaining with the Rangers 6 points ahead and they have been playing very well.

However, this still is a consistent team so that's why I am not sure if they hit a skid or not.

it would be a colossal failure if we dont make the playoffs right now. Carolinas schedule is brutal and ours has some very winnable games.

Went with most likely as I have the whole season. I have it at higher than 75% myself but nothings ever guaranteed. As Inferno said though, it would be a breakdown and collapse if we missed the playoffs. There's really no excuse at this rate.

At this point things are looking very positive. It would be a huge disappointment if they missed out from where they sit now.

If we play 500 hockey or better the next 8 yes , if we lose two in a row starting thursday the noose gets tight . Carolina looks fit to get on a roll IMO and we may have peaked last 5 and have no back up goalie to rely on . Still feeling a collapse is very very possible .

Nice. Glad to see you brought this back, Garfinkel.

I think we probably will (75%).

Yet most ppl voted 75%, what does that say about confidence in the group around here. Hell yes there making the playoffs, they have too many lines rolling, the Pack line is playing great, D is great and Hank wants the postseason. Hopefully Stall gets back ASAP and i would keep Eminger in for Gilroy as i just like his compete level not that Gilroy hasent played solid hockey. I wouldint mind seeing Sean back in the line-up soon either. A couple dumb penalties one game should not be enough to keep him out this long. Hes too good to be sitting this long.

Lighten up Francis.

Hey, I'm no Pollyanna. This team can frustrate the hell out of you. But a 5-game win streak at this stage of the season is a BIG positive.

I think they're feeling it. We keep getting the good mojo at home and we may do some damage. I think we're going to get there.

voted 75% BTW

Yes there is, in terms of crowd atmosphere, it's the Garden playoff game during a Knicks game--when they are good.

I love playoff games at the Garden in general though, but a Knicks playoff game > a Rangers playoff game (only in terms of crowd atmosphere I mean).

I don't know about that. I was at the Rozsival double OT winner in 07 and I honestly thought the roof was gonna come off the place. Granted I haven't been to a Knick playoff game because they haven't been in it but I just can't see how it can compare. The Ranger playoff games I've been to have been nonstop noise especially game 4 against the Caps in 09. My father's been to both Knick and Ranger playoff games at the Garden and he said there was nothing like the Ranger crowd.

I could definitely see the Knick atmosphere being a lot more into it this year since it's their first year being back in a while though. I feel when the games get important for the Rangers though, the crowd takes it up to a notch where it's hard to match.
