Huge game tonight... is anyone noticing a pattern here?
They need to come out strong like they did with Anaheim. Dallas doesn't have quite as strong of an offense as Anaheim, but they have a slightly better offense and you have to expect the goaltending to be stronger. Hiller almost surely wasn't ready to come back when he started Thursday night. With that said, Nashville only has eight fewer goals than Dallas, but the Preds' defense and goaltending are an entire level above theirs.
Dallas is actually a smaller team than Nashville. Speed, and lots of it! The biggest thing the boys need to work on tonight is that sloppy puck possession in the defensive zone. That has been a problem for the past few games.
Win it pretty. Win it ugly. Win it however you can, just freakin' win!
Okay, Preds...dig down deep into your reserves and get the energy flowing. We all need this game, whether because of the standings, because of long simmering resentment, or even just because of the fact that it's southern team vs. southern team. Many many underlying emotions, lots of back stories. We need this game, we need it decisive, we need it to be a powerful statement. Go out and take it.
I am wondering will there be a letdown after not really being able to feel so great after that win over the Ducks, as Trotz blistered them pretty good about "managing the game", or will they come out flying? Hopefully we won't see managing the game mode too early, if they sit back, it could be a bad start. I think the team is feeling good again, that they can score. So expecting a strong start. I expect the defense to be really ready as well after some ugly moments in a couple recent games, including the last one.
Burish is out, and apparently they have some horrible record (something like 2-10-4) without him in the line up. Could just mean the entire team was playing like crap, or maybe he's that important. Either way I think we have a fair shot at this if we can get in their faces at the first puck drop, and stay there until the last buzzer. I'm talking follow them to their ******* locker room, and literally stay in their ****ing faces while they try to take a breather. No excuses, boys. Go for the throat!
