They should try Penner as center. He is good at draws and has good hands.

This. (though injuries are the one thing Barry is good at)

But let's wait for an official report.

Kopitar is A King. Kopitar is not THE Kings. If he's out for a long time then ****ing suck it up, Kings.

The comments on his injury aren't even really opinion. Just rampant, useless speculation. Let's wait to hear.

Thats one of my biggest pet peeves is when people speculate on prospects, and say that they "aren't ready to do something." How would you know until you actually see them perform?
while i don't disagree your saying that we could use schenn, and i don't necessarily agree with how sure TG is about him not being able to fill the #1 spot, i don't think he is THE solution. when he was playing with the kings earlier this year, he was getting exposed in a lot of risky situations--or at least that's what i recall. this year, kopi has really elevated his defensive game. and he's our highest scorer by far. i think schenn could stop the bleeding a little bit, but to put that kind of pressure on him and expect him to fulfill both those sides of kopi's game when he's barely even played in the NHL is unrealistic.

The official report will be "lower body injury". The unofficial report will be the real injury.

Can someone please kidnap Schenn and get him to LA?

This is so unfair. The only guy who has the talent to be a #1 center in our system is Schenn, and he's stuck in the juniors.

I don't know why we are already talking about losing him for the season. Mike Modano played almost an entire playoff with a broken foot. Nobody knows anything at this point, everyone put the parachutes away and get back in your seat.

Hockey is a team sport. One player can impact the game but not win it single handedly like in other sports. Pease spare me all the "im done with this team" talk. Suck it up, this team is deeper than we are giving them credit for.

This is all true but...a knee injury or ankle injury is a lot different than a broken foot.

I would feel better if it wasn't against Colorado.

Kings should still beat Edmonton easily, it will be the games against the Pacific that will be tough.

Go Kings!

I believe!

The report isn't really what matters, it's the timetable.

I wonder if this means Holloway finally gets his cup of coffee.

Smyth-Lewis-Brown
Penner-Stoll-Moller
Ponikarovsky-Handzus-Simmonds
Clifford-Richardson-Holloway

Would be nice to have Loktionov right now.

Kevin Westgarth could probably do well against the Avalanche's defense.

They've literally won three times in the last 30.

Again, I would love for somebody to show me WHY Schenn is stuck in juniors and why we can't call up him up until Saskatoon is eliminated....

....against a bottom-feeder. With or without Kopi there's no excuse for losing against a team like Col/Edm right now. I won't feel better until we beat Vancouver on Saturday.

I'm glad they played till the end, but closing a game against the avalanche is one thing. A four game series against Nashville, Phoenix, or San Jose is something entirely different. We need people to stand on their heads and do flips to get out of this one. We will see what happens. Only thing I care about is people getting 100% healthy and making sure they are ready to go with no problems.

Unfortunately ......

Linden Vey, the most well rounded of our forwards making him better suited to stepping in out of Jr's and giving us a good look on wing is in a playoff race with his tigers.

Toffoli, another gifted winger who's team lost in OT today could be a call up in a couple of weeks if the 67's drop the ball but I don't see them doing so.

Kitsyn's team is still in the playoffs and he is also a winger and I don't think we really need an extra one up right now.

I would hope that with all of these kids that they go to the Monarchs after their respective seasons end. Maybe freeing up a couple of the Manchester kids to the kings.

Kozun would be my first call up.

The problem that we have is that our center depth comes down to players who can fill our bottom 6 spots with the exception of Schenn and the injured Loktionov.

If we brought up Azevedo or even Holloway ( who has played center in his career) they could fill Lewis and
Zues spots and allow them to move up. Those two could come up and do a solid job in limited roles for us.

You could add Elkins and Cliche onto that same list I guess. If you brought up one of those four kids we can fill Kopi's spot without leaving a hole elsewhere or you could swap Ritchie to center and bring up Kozun and then swap Moller to center and bring up Brown to the top line to balance it out.

We have options but it means gutting Manchester which to some extent is what they are there for though only in emergencies and this qualifies as such.
