I agree with Surf in that I'd like a team our boys are sure to get up against. I think Pitt qualifies, certainly, as does Washington for the players that have been on the respective teams for more than 2 years, because of our 08-09 series.

Philly is a division rival, should be animosity there. I'm a little scared that we might get stifled by Boston.

i know it's been said before, but after yesterday's game, i don't know if i'd want a series against the Bruins. I feel like they would leave us absolutely mangled. And there is no team the rangers don't have a chance against in the east.

No way do I wanna face the Caps in the 1st round. nor do I wanna face Philly.

I think Boston or Pitt are our best chances of getting out of the 1st round.

The Rangers best chance of advancing is against Boston. However, the Bruins would leave the Rangers so beat up, they'd never get out of Round 2. That goes for Boston should they beat the Rangers as well.

I don't want to see Pittsburgh because of the way the league seems to have hitched their collective horses to the success and failure of that team. There's just too many weird things that could happen against a team like that.

Philly and Washington are enigmas. At times, they look unbeatable, other times they look like they could be had, easily.

I'd most like to face Tampa, but the math isn't going to allow that to happen in the first round.

In order of who I think the Rangers can beat - Boston, Washington, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh.

Because of our goal scoring I'll take whoever has the most suspect goaltending going into the playoffs

Exactly what I'm worried about. I'm confident this team could beat them but how much more would they have left in the tank for the next round? Boston would leave this team bruised and battered.

Agree. I'd take anyone on besides them. No disrespect to those teams.

You have to beat the best to be the best. I don't care who we play. Anything can happen in the playoffs once you're in.

In the first round, I want the Bruins. I'm confident we can beat them in a series. Historically, Henrik has their number, and this year is no different.

I do not want to see us face Montreal or Philadelphia. Also, don't want to see the Capitals (despite our dominance over them during the regular season this year).

I think WSH is our best matchup.

A series against Boston is gunna be a battle of 2-1, 1-0 games. I don't think thats our strong suit..

I know Washington has been on fire recently but I think they're the best draw.. however its tough to see them go down in round 1 again.

Where is the anything can happen in the playoffs mentality now? Bring em on. Philly, Pitt, Boston, Tampa who gives a ****. We can hang with those teams and they would have to earn the wins. If you guys dream of a deep run you have to meet them eventually and I think with the current momentum this team has they could upset someone in the 1st round.

Tampa is just begging for a first round knockout but we won't get them. I have no problem playing Washington. Really don't want Boston or Philly.

If we need to fear anyone, we might as well tank now and miss the playoffs. We have the same goal everyone else does...

Oh and by the way; we've won our last game against four of those five teams, by a combined score of 19-2.

I'd want Washington. I don't really trust our offense in the playoffs against the better defensive teams. I know the Caps are better defensively this season, but they seem to have trouble defending our constant boardplay.

So your goal is to go one round and bow out? We'll have to face the better teams eventually can't be scared.

Washington is 8-2-0 in the last 10.
Philadelphia is 5-1-4.
Boston is 4-3-4.

If anything you wanna catch one of the teams that is slipping up a little after a strong majority of the season.

I wish the Devils didn't suck so we could beat them in the POs again

Pretty much. Tampa also has seemed to have our number this year, so I'd rather not see them.

A Crosby and Malkin-less Pittsburgh team might have some licking their chops to get at them, but they could beat us by their great defense alone (never thought I'd say that)

Boston would be a very tough and long series, since the styles the two teams play are so similar.

The team I would want is Washington. Their defense and goalies are suspect, and if we can shut down the four headed monster of Ovie, Backstrom, Semin, and Green on the offensive end like we have the entire year, I like our chances.

This team is getting hot at the right time. With Henrik on his game, this team could potentially go all the way.

I wouldnt mind facing Philly considering we beat them 7-0 last time we played. I know it doesnt really count for anything, but thats the most recent memory we have of Philly so I wouldnt feel to bad going into series against them. however, Washington is the ideal matchup imo

A lot of tough match-ups for sure...but I'll take our chances against anyone, preferably not Philly. They are just loaded up front.

I think Ovechkin is going to have a big post-season. I'd rather not face him first round but I also think that this team can handle him if they play well defensively.

I'd like to face 3 Eastern teams and 1 Western team. Beyond that, I'm not picky.

As long as we beat a Western Conference team, I'd be satisfied.
