Because they're not relevant? I guess people have never played hockey before, a coach showing emotion to get the boys rallied is not a bad thing.

You not agreeing with point =/= it being idiotic. No one wants their head coach screaming and yelling like people seem to want here. To show emotion like that displays weakness. To be reserved and calm no matter what shows confidence and the players can respect that.
