You can't reward PK with PP time constantly if he is hurting this team in other areas. He needs to learn to play like Markov, Gill and Gorges and not take so damn many penalties. In Markov's last full season, he had 18 penalties, PK has 38 so far this year, not counting the dive tonight.

Gill only has 13 penalties, Wiz 9. PK is taking way too many penalties. He is a rookie and he needs to learn to be more responsible.
What is even worse, is that PK is tied for 1st in the league now for minor penalties.

Steve Ott 39
PK Subban 39
Matt Cooke 37
Theo Peckham 35
Corey Perry 35

I find this to be crazy. He does take stupid penalties pretty often, but at least he has taken it down a few notches from earlier in the season. Hopefully he works on this next year, but I'm afraid that it is part of his game.

So he is one of our leaders in time on ice. He usually plays against opponents top line's. This basically shows through actions that Martin and the Habs need him.

Aside from Wiz, we do not have anyone that can be a threat from the point on the PP. Well, there is one but he is sitting on the sidelines.

Our PP is 2 for its last 33, we just went 3 straight games with no goals. But ya, its time to teach him a lesson.
Let the vets like Gomez take stupid penalties and do whatever they want, but a guy who has performed just as good as most on this team on the ice, because he is a rookie, let's teach him a lesson.

This let the vets get away with everything and punish rookies for identical things really bugs me.

Yeah I always liked McCreary as well, he's one of the few that will give players and coaches the time of day to explain his on ice decisions.. Some of them are so arrogant now

No way in hell PK should be allowed to get away with all the penalties he takes out there. He's at 106 PIM on the season and he's tied for the league lead in minors; The guy you named, Gomez, has 46 PIM in comparison, way less than 106.

PK needs to start playing more disciplined. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume he's not on the 1st PP unit because of unwillingness to take less penalties. Frankly, him not being on the #1 PP unit might be costing us less, potentially, than all the penalties he's taking, no matter how bad our PP has been, getting on the PK is always more of a risky situation.

This NEEDS to change, especially now that the playoffs are around and the stakes are higher. He'll get back onto that 1st unit once he realizes this.

Someone can make a new thread if you like ..

According to Eric Engels on twitter, after the game Gomez made some very genuine Gomez to the media, including admitting to a recent heart to heart conversation with Bob Gainey and saying his feelings on the current season are "What the ****".

Eric Engels said it was very obvious to all how much Gomez does care.

I'd like to see what actually Gomez's comments were before judging, besides wtf.

Pleks only does that when it doesn't affect La Cage aux Sports.

Yes, and Hamrlik has 31 minor penalties. Plekanec has 28. REALLY? Martin is so upset because of 8 more penalties than Hamrlik? A vet for however long, I cannot agree with that.

And when Gomez takes penalties, his are stupid penalties. He is clearly putting himself before the team. He can't keep his emotions in check. The **** he did tonight to Kane, he is lucky Kane didn't drop him on his ass. A headbutt to the face? He always does things like that and crying all over the ice to a ref or opposing player.

You can do this in the middle of the season, like Martin did with PK's benching for 3-4 games. But this late in the season when we are clearly struggling to score?
