Everything that's wrong with this team is Carter's fault. Like Coburn's goal? If Carter wasn't on the ice it would have counted as 2 goals!
I think you take this too seriously.

Good for you, as it should. Just do not let anyone openly criticize a Flyers player, for it really means they are not a fan.

I actually find that people who feel the need to criticize ad nauseum are generally unhappy with their own lives. It seems to make them feel important to trash those who are successful. Sad, really.

You keep thinking that. And you keep idolizing those who you put on a platform.

Nobody here idolizes Carter or Richards. That's what you fail to see. They get criticism when criticism is due.

I don't put them on a platform, I see them as good players who aren't perfect, just as no human is. I don't sit around waiting for them to make a mistake and then run to the internet to rip them.

What number do you have on your Flyers jersey?

Disagree. I am sure there are plenty of homers who wish they could spend one day with their star athlete. I could care less, they are athletes and my hope is that with their spare time they are doing some good in the world, making a difference. But there is certainly a group of fans who view Carter and Richards as "movie stars", just look at the lines for the Carnival for these players.

Just an honest opinion. Until he performs in the playoffs he will have that monkey on his back: 41 games, 19pts.

Before you showed up, Carter was a whipping boy on these forums. You have taken it so far that people feel obligated to defend him against your unjust and incredibly biased accusations.

You think some people's "love" of Carter and Richards clouds there judgement? Look in the mirror.

We will see in a couple weeks. Again, if I am wrong about his character and playoff performance we most likely will win the Cup. If I am right, we are stuck with him for 10 years unless Homer moves him before the NTC kicks in.

Again, winning or losing the Cup isn't entirely on Carter. This team isn't designed so that any one player is expected to singlehandedly carry the team.

Nope, but for success in the post season your best players need to be your best players.

Luckily Carter isn't our only good player, and the team is built for depth.

Agree, but if he gets shut down you would have to assume that Giroux is also not contributing. Which leaves the HBL line and the Richards line. I expect the Richards line to be more of a matchup line, so any scoring they give is a bonus. I also expect that eventually Nodl will be back with Richards and Versteeg and JvR with Giroux and Carter.

Also, what about all the clamoring with Carters GW goals, if he is that vital to winning big games then he should show up on the scoring sheet in important games.

Just to be clear, your evidence that people here "idolize" Carter is the folks at the Flyers Wives Carnival?

I'm sure it's 1:1 there. ****, I haven't been to a FWC since I was like 10.

The Flyers beat writer, LAST *ING WEEK, felt that an article specifically noting that Flyer fans don't appreciate how good Carter is... yet you think Carter suffers from having too many fanboys?
