POTG / The Good: Henrik Lundqvist
The Bad: The first two periods we were completely dominated.
The Redden: The fact that we have 3 goals in our last 4 games... Tortorella needs to get this team going.

Only 3-points in front of Carolina. I don't feel too comfortable anymore. Rangers need to respond tomorrow. Someone, anyone, besides Lundqvist has to step up.

I'm not going to get on Gaborik, he played a good game, just couldn't finish. The guy tried hard, you could see it.

And is it just me, or are all of our defense men slow, defensive shut down defense men? We don't have any real good skating defense man who are a threat with the puck. During the off season, I look for a Streit like defense man as one of my top priorities.

It's his own fault.
If the Rangers don't sign Richards, there's no point in having him imo.

The good - Lundqvist as usual.

Bad - offense is not very offensive, and the Canes have won 2 in a row.

the Redden- the continuous mediocre BS you get from this organization. Just a borderline 7th - 8th seed, but most likely will finish 9th. Draft day will come and we'll get a player like Bobby Sanguinetti in round 1 and read from Jim Cerny how good he'll be according to Gordie Clark....Repeat cycle...

I don't get why people are so worried about who we'd potentially play in the playoffs. I'm more interested in making them.

And is it just me, or is this board unbearable after a loss? It goes from sunshine and unicorns riding down rainbows in a land with blue, cloudless skies and gold for rain to a place where it's constantly thunder storming, and demons come out of the ground every ten minutes to **** you.

If we assume that Buffalo and Montreal fight for their remaining positions we're down to fighting against Carolina for the last position.

Carolina is currently at 84 points. In Carolina's best situation winning the next 5/5 games they'll be at 94 points.

We're currently at 87 points. We'd need 7 points or 4/5 wins to beat them for the last spot.

Even in Carolina's BEST scenario, winning 4/5 of our next games isn't too far-fetched....

C'mon boys we got this...

How about this. Even if Carolina does DECENT, let's say, 3/5 games, 6 points + 84 currently = 90 overall.

Since we're sitting at 87, we'd only need to win 2/5 to beat them.

That's absolutely plausible. Let's DO THIS!!!!!!!

The sad part is that they're really 37-40, under .500, and competing for a playoff spot. We're 41-36, and just 3-points in front of them. I hate the "loser" point.

It's always been like this, you're just not used to it since it's your first full season here. After the game tomorrow where they annihilate the Islanders, we'll be talking about how we could beat anyone in the east.

Just wondering why the Sabres, and Habs will be fighting for a spot in front of us, when they are in the same situation as us. Honestly, the Habs have been the worst out of the 4 fighting for a spot.

All ten options should have been Hank anyway so you're only mistake is not putting him down more.

And, you're right about the Anisimov goal taken away. The inconsistency of officiating is what gets me. As I said earlier, a different ref and no call. One ref will look at the cause of it (the Sabres dman) and another will look at the result literally, which is the goaltender's inability to move, which was not faked, it was real.
Officiating is a spin of the wheel.

It doesn't matter, I was just using them as a reference point to show in the worst case scenario we only need to win roughly 2-3 out of the next 5 to make it in.

Furthermore, to supplement this, I've assumed MTL and Sabres will be above us because if MTL wins the next 4 they're at 97 points which means we would need a perfect 5/5 to catch them...

It was very frustrating, but most posters, as usual, are overreacting.

Meh. Same as our losing streaks- we played pretty iffy for a stretch and then get ****ed out of bounces not letting us knot the game.

If we had a few more points it wouldn't be a big deal at all.

Anyone have a clean replay of the incidental contact play? I was at the game and too busy yelling at Torts to get the refs over to talk to him instead of watching the replay. Would love to see it.

Not going to go negative on my team. anymore. Keeping the faith.

They were on a great point streak and were bound to drop a game in regulation. Sucks that it was barfalo, but they came off a loss and had a little more desperation in their game.

I want to see The Rangers in the playoffs.

Let's Go!

Well, glad I passed on this game for a good meal. We have seen this kind of game many times. We need someone to raise the adrenaline in games like this. Unfortunately, the only guy we have who has ever done this no longer does this. Why doesn't someone on the team start something, go after someone to get some emotion in the game? Not a fatal no show, but removes the margin for error.

Im not defending Wolski in anyway because of his play lately but how is he suppose to do something when he gets 5 minutes of ice time per game? Seriously... Give him 15-20mins like everyone else and he'll get you an assist or goal. Torts just doesn't like him plain and simple.

POTG is Lundqvist as always.
The Bad: BAD START!
