So Calgary loses to Anaheim which is a good thing I think. That pretty much offically ends Calgary being a team we have to worry about as the most points they can reach now if 95 and it's impossible for them to win the tiebreaker with us. If we have less than 95 points we aren't going to be making the playoffs anyways. No it's just really down to Dallas to worry about.

I was pulling hard for Calgary. We could have had the Ducks behind us and Chicago and Dallas, and our playoff chances would have gone up. Instead the Ducks chances improved quite a bit, and now have a percentage chance about the same as ours. In return all we get is the already tiny Flames chances was extinguished, I didn't care about that at all, because what little chance they had I think was based on catching someone other than us, but now a team we do have to be concerned about, the Ducks, had a big win. According to the 'playoff predictor' anyway. Our chances dropped a small amount today, but are still very good.

Don't believe what you hear from teams this time of year. And remember suter and leggy were "day to day" for what, three weeks each?

We should know forr sure soon. After that embarassment last nite if howard can go he will go soon. If they keep playing macdonaldthen the injury is worse than they are saying

Howard will play Saturday. It was always planned that way. They said he could have played last night, but they wanted to give him an extra couple of days.

agree with this. I wanted calgary to win in regulation. If calgary catches us it would mean we collapsed and then it wouldnt matter anyway.

but at least it wasnt an OT game.

edit:

for tonight, the Sharks can go a long way toward burying the Stars.

and I hope the canucks dont take their foot off the gas against LA now that they have clinched the #1 seed...

The Ducks are going to be there. They're looking like the best team in hockey right now.

It's the Stars that you should be keeping an eye on.

the Stars have a tough few games coming up and then it gets easier, we need them to lose now.

It's amazing that no one other than us has been able to shut down the top (and only) line that the Ducks have.

You mean...shut down...other than the two goals Perry put up?

And their second line of Blake Koivu Selanne would easily be our first...

Always better to bring your goalie back against the Preds forwards than the offensive juggernaut that is the ST LOUIS BLUUUUUUEEEESSSSS. Ducks saved Hiller to test against us, which is why they knew he was still far from alright.

I wasn't saying they weren't getting in, but even so they had a bigger chance to miss than the Flames had to make it in, if the Flames beat them. More important to me, we had a much better chance to beat out the Ducks for a seed if the Flames beat them, now it's much tougher for us to beat the Ducks for a spot. And I'd feel better about rooting for the Ducks over Dallas if the flames had won yesterday. Calgary losing seemed like a bad result for us. But whatever, it's done.

Even though our win was ugly, all other games are going our way for once

Do the PREDS have such a thing as a "magic number" to clinch a playoff spot yet????

I thought the only game that mattered besides ours was Dallas, but now I see the Kings lost. And we won. One day that goes our way.

According to the stats site, the most likely outcome for the Preds now is to go 3-1 for 100 points and 5th place.

3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th looking a lot better than playing the Nucks or Sharks.

My dreams largely involve Hawks/Nucks and Ducks/Sharks in the first round.

well, unfortunately VAN is done playing the PO contenders - final game with Calgary is it. Calgary realistically has to win out to have a shot, but we need a single point to lock them out.

SJ - 5 games, ANA 2, PHX 2, and LA; the Sharks be our 2nd fave team for the next 9 days.
DAL - 6 games, one with LA, one with ANA, BJs, Minny, and 2 with COL. From a "get in" standpoint we want LA and ANA to take them, but I really wanna' root for them to win out and take our chances on getting a better seed.

Today - BJs over CHI and COL over PHX.
