i voted other simply because my girlfriend just bought me a bottle of Makers Mark, plus i have off tomorrow.

Isles just outplyed the Rangers, can't even really fault hank for any of the goals.

5 goals in 5 games, keep up the good work games, im sure Henrik will just post a .89 GAA over the next 4 games and bail you all out.

That's why I haven't been part of the GDT's since the Anaheim game. I just felt this was a good game to come back to.

[QUOTE=satrabyk;32034805]Cmon man have u not been following this team. Philly is a team they can beat and will beat. Boston will be tough but beatable, Atlanta a def winnable game and NJ prob the toughest of all 4 games.

Aside from the garbage time goal they haven't scored more than 1 goal in a while and you have them winning 3 of the last 4?

The Rangers DIDN'T come out flying, didn't come out to play 100%, didn't play their best game... heck, didn't even play THEIR game. And they needed to. Detroit didn't need to come out flying. I'm not suggesting they got together on the plane and said "hey guys, let's mail this one in" but the point is, they didn't need the game and so if their effort wasn't 110% it's acceptable because they earned the comfort of being able to blow a game and not sweat it. The Rangers are supposed to be coming out FLYING. We didn't even have our first shot in this game until nearly 10 minutes had passed. Not unlike the Buffalo game. We haven't been coming out flying and it hasn't just been one game. We have struggled to score ONE goal per game for the last FIVE games when we have needed EVERY ONE OF THEM. If Henrik hadn't had a super-human stretch where he allowed one goal in three games, we would be on a five game losing streak. Why is that difficult for you to understand?
And why is it difficult for some of you to understand that Hank is payed ELITE PLAYER MONEY to do that? I can easily say "if our offense had scored more goals in those three games, we would be on a five game winning streak! Why is that difficult for you to understand!" They're both hypothetical. Our defense and Hank was winning us games. Sometimes that happens. The last two games it just didn't happen.

You make it sound like i'm not upset with the outcome of this game, or the game itself.

The good: I wasnt able to watch the game

I usually watch the games late night on DVR, but I think I will be avoiding this one.

Streaky team.

Streaky fans.

Arguing about the attitudes of the fans isn't going to improve anyone's.

LGR, lets go get a big team vs Philly. Awaiting the Torts presser.

Rangers are in SERIOUS trouble if they continue to generate NOTHING offensively....

Upcoming games: Philly, Atlanta, Boston, NJ -- that's three difficult games against teams with good D (sans ATL).

1 goal a game is not going to cut it -- AND you need to actually play with some desperation and passion for more than 5 minutes the entire game. If you don't outwork the other team you will lose 99% of the time.

Kudos to the Islanders for showing up and teaching the Rangers a lesson they had best take note of going forward these last four games.

Are you kidding me? The most elite goalies in the world rarely do what Henrik had been doing over the last stretch of games; you know that the only other goalies in the past 20 year to record as many shutouts as Hank has this year are sure-fire hall-of-famers Brodeur and Hasek? Hank doesn't get paid elite money to be a one man team. A 2.00 GAA over the last 5 games would still be elite; he had a .48 GAA over the last 4 before tonight. It's not even about the anemic goal total; it's about the fact that the team hasn't come to play besides Hank recently. Do they want the playoffs or not? We know Hank does (ergo he's earning his paycheck) what about the rest of them?

At this point you need to destroy ATL and NJ with a loss against either being crippling. You also have to split Boston and Philly.

Epic Fail. This is what happens when you have threads about hoping the Islanders can win the lottery so they can be competitive and polls on who you would like to see in the playoffs.

Hopefully this is a wake up call. I understand Henrik is probably exhausted and am glad he got the 3rd off.

POTG: Nobody
Good: Nothing
Bad: Everything
Redden: Tortorella. IF this team chokes away a playoff spot, Tortorella needs to be canned. The Buffalo game was not all that bad; Sabres played a lockdown clutch and grab fest that was let go. Tonight, this team crapped two beds. Where was the emotion from behind the bench? This guy is a total paper tiger who chokes under pressure.

Also, everyone was right the Coliseum is an absolute ****hole. I can't name one good thing about the arena outside of the sightlines which are really good for hockey. Other than that, an absolute dump. I guess it's named the Coliseum because it seems like something that came out of ****ing ancient Rome.

...I'm agreeing with you, it looks like. The offense hasn't come to play in the last games. I also like that people say the Stepan goal in Boston was a fluke when it was a great deflection. The defense has also been fine the past games. I'm saying that Hank CAN and SHOULD win us games because he's the best in the world. You guys make it sound like it's atrocious he's winning us games when the only thing that matters is that we SHOULD be winning games.

you gotta feel for hank, the poor guy has suffered through year after year of over paid rag tag 3rd liners in front of him. its a shame his talent is being completed wasted on this team.

Sergio Leone would be proud...

Good - ummm cannot find anything really
Bad - total team effort and pathetic delivery in very important game, coaching, mental preperation, ice quality, Averys fight (got stomped)
Ugly - Isles coaches face, Gillies mustache, The Masoleum in itself, standings getting pretty vile...

The fluff - our PP. Worse than an ugly toothless porno extra

Laughable post about Tortorella. The players have to take it upon themselves to play at a higher level and they clearly didn't. Put the blame where it belongs.

Yea I realized that. All he will say is "They didn't want to win," and, "I have to check the tape."

I do because i kno this team has heart and will not bail, as i said Bos will be close maybe a shootout. The problem i have is some guys on this team weaknesses are showing. I mean Gabs is as perimeter as u get and it would be ok if u didnt have a clumsy guy like Prospal playing with him, he needs a guy that going to create space for him the way Gaborik plays and Prospal (doing his best) is just not good enough. And i think he and Cally are being overused on the PP for some ****ed up reason. Get Dubi, Zucc, Gaborik, Stepan (point), Stall/Mccabe, that is a PP unit.

P.s I never thought i would say this but get Drury in the line-up. We need something to shake things up even if it means him. Do not put that scrub W2 in next game plz Torts, think why u sat him in the first place.

Great post, tonight was the night to get things back on track. Torts fails to challenge this team and he couldn't make an in game adjustment to save his life. Little faith that we can turn things around in these final 4. If we won tonight everything would have been on the up and up, if the Canes beat the Isles (which they will) we are headed for 9th.
