the 2nd period was as bad as any I could remember since I began following the rangers, maybe since they fell behind to the Caps 6-1 in 1991, but they came back to win that game.

I was starting to like Torts this year, but this post-game reconfirmed how much of an a-hole he is. It really pisses me off that he disrespects a good man such as Sam Rosen like that.

Does anyone else have the feeling that the chance to make the playoffs goes through NJ?

It looks that way, which is not good news for us. The next 4 games would have been difficult with a win tonight regardless, but unless the isles can do us a favor and beat the canes (which i highly doubt) it is not looking good at all.

I was on my way home from the game and missed the post game.

Does anyone have video of Tortorella or the players being interviewed? I wanted to see what they said, the NYR website doesn't have it up yet.

You didn't miss anything. He just said he wasn't discussing anything, keeping it in house. Said that for all questions, and then the interview ended.

The one time they beat Philadelphia was because they were playing like absolute crap. Every other game the Rangers were pretty much outplayed, and they lost.

Unless we can beat BOTH Philly and Boston there's a very good chance that we have just made the Devils game a real factor in our playoff aspirations.

Rangers need to win the next 3 games... going into the last game vs. the Devils in a do or die is just a terrible situation again..especially for Rangers fans..

I'm actually dying BECAUSE i'm watching it.

Kidding, kidding- I would never watch that abortion of a game ever even if I was forced to at gunpoint.

Thats torts press game conf. for anyone that cares.

Was at the game and i left early. Been a ranger fan for pretty much my entire life. Probably have gone to around 500 games (i'm only 21). Never left a game early until today.

O yea, on another note. While at the game, can't even tell you how many islander fans tried to start **** with Rangers fans. It was unbelievable. Also, never seen security be that pathetic.

Fights were breaking out left and right.

What section were you sitting in? I was in 337 and it didn't seem too bad.

back of 332 and it was pretty wild. Almost got into a few myself. The group to my left and the group behind me both got kicked out. Guy behind me was a rangers fan. People to the left were islanders fan. The entire third period we were all going at it. There was a security guard up there with us and she was yelling at me to shut my mouth and the guy behind her was cursing and yelling obscenities at me while shes talking to me. I was like, do you not here this. Shes like i hear it but i'm going to kick you out if you don't shut your mouth. God forbid she kicked me out of that game

Islanders fans are a joke. I had excellent seats and behind me an Islander fan was screaming "all the dirtbag Ranger fans really shut their pathetic mouths" to which I replied that I wasn't going to talk about their team's performance the last 20 years but it's pathetic that 70% of your arena is taken over by opposing fans.

On that note, disgusting performance tonight, the entire team should be embarrassed.

I know this can only come off one way, which is bad and somewhat judgmental, but i find many of their fans to be very red neckish.

Three things...

1.) I'm pretty sure this is the most deserving loss the Rangers have had all year. We were given a mountain of power plays and did jack **** with them.

2.) I'm shocked the "we're DOOMED!!!" threads haven't shown up yet.

3.) It's not time to hit the panic button yet.

I think everyone got all the panicking out of their system in the GDT. Also I think people realized how easy it is for us to make the playoffs.

Islanders team is a bunch of goons. I actually liked the way their team was coming along but i'd have to say i'd be pretty embarrassed if everytime a game got out of hand it turned into fight night. Not saying the rangers didn't do their part but its a little ridiculous.

not to troll, but the islanders have a lot of injuries in their line up and their defence is basically made up of ahl called up kids. plus grabner was out.

I was really expecting a loss tonight, since the Rangers have been playing well in the last few games and were fighting for a play off spot.

So since they have injuries it makes it ok to act like a bunch of goons. I'm not talking this specific game in general but it seems every game thats a blowout with them just turns into a mess. Honestly could care less.

Man has Boyle really hit a wall. How many more games does EC get to showcase his skill? MZA,Avery and Wolski have all sat of late with him still in the lineup.
