And yes, the Handzus play should have been a penalty.

That being said, please don't suggest that the hit on Tanev was a bad call. Because that would make you look like homers, and we all have to make concessions.

In all seriousness Kings fans, great game, hope nobody's injured, and see you in the playoffs!
It was a penalty, but Tanev stupidly put himself in vulnerable position. He knew Clifford was right behind but decided to turn away right as he gets to the boards.

Canucks played well tonight, but this game was no different than the last game with Kopitar/Williams. Kings might have even played better the first two periods.

Hopefully we beat the Stars on Saturday and lock up a playoff spot.

TM needs to put Harrold on that 4th line over Westgarth. He's weighing down the line. Kings need all the skill they can get with Kopi and Willie out.

No doubt that the Clifford hit was the call. For 5 mins? MAYBE, and I mean MAYBE could have been lowered. But when I looked Tanev turned his back at the last second. NO doubt a boarding however which is usually a 2 min. Kesler really pissed me off tonight.

Saskatoon has lost two in a row and the series is now tied 2-2. Only two more losses to go.

Westgarth played fine tonight for christ sake.

You guys act like he's the anti-christ and the reason the Kings lost, and why you got beat up in high school.

He wasn't out of position, he didn't take any stupid penalties, he was fine,

Quit *****ing about him ffs, it just makes you look ignorant.

You realize that Vancouver's had a whopping 7 more powerplays than LA ALL YEAR and that powerplay stats go off percentages right? as in it only matters how many you convert relative to how many you get? And having more actually gives you a larger sample size and skews in favour of having a LOWER percentage?

But yeah

In all honesty, I have no problem with the call on the Clifford penalty. It's a board, the guy is hurt, fine. Having said that, as a Kings fan, I don't have a problem with what Clifford did at all. I do think he was trying to send a message and that's fine with me.

wow, i actually thought Westgarth was 1 of the kings best players tonight. The 4th line was clearly and easily the best line, and Westgarth had a lot to do with that

Sad to see 0 shots in the third. But, I mean, it's going to be like for awhile.

Boo.

This.

I expected us to lose tonight so I'm not too mad. However, I feel like we had a chance to win it, if not for Doughtys boneheaded plays, so I'm still a little POed. Dallas most likely losing helps ease that pain. If we beat Dallas in regulation on sat., wont it be almost impossible for them to catch us?

Yeah John Garrett. Like I said in the game day thread, he's a moron. He is by far worse than Hayward. He sucked as a goalie, and sucks as an announcer.

But yeah
it doesnt matter if you convert, you can build momentum on a powerplay and then score in the next few mins

It's fair to say he was falling, but Clifford pushed him in the back and then contacted his head with his leg. I thought it was a suspension when I saw it live, but I'm satisfied with 5 now that I've seen it a few times.

You don't think that was the wrong time to send a message, 1 goal game, 5-7 minutes left, you plaster a guy from behind and send all hope of tying it up out the window???

Again, not a smart play.

I though tonight was one of the few nights where Westgarth actually looked like he belonged, and I can't stand the guy.

If we beat them on Saturday, we would be 9 points on them with us having 4 games left and them having 5.

They would have to go 5-0-0 and us going 0-4-0 for them to catch us.

Vancouver *is* the best team in the NHL, and the Kings hung in there with them until the refs took them out of the game. Throwing the various members of the Kings under the bus is silly. They aren't going to win every game.

They'll bounce back Saturday.

They didn't have a shot in the period, there was no way they were tying that game up.
