Nik Antropov

Any chance he gets traded? Any idea what Atlanta might want?

Really like this guy. He is 30 though soo, is likely past/in his prime. High 2nd rounder?

His value is likely low given his season he's had. That said, the guy is a very good two way centre when healthy.

You probably haven't seen him then, because he is really really really struggling. On a team that has lots of cap space, maybe a 2nd rounder, or a 2nd plus cap dump for a team close to the cap.

he came back too early from hip surgery in order to be on the opening night roster and it's affected him all season. i think we'd be more inclined to hang on to him due to our lack of top-6 talent at the moment and the fact that we don't have a whole lot of cap pressure at the moment.

Yep, Antropov's a weird one. He was great last season, was the Thrashers MVP, but has never looked 100% fit this season after his hip surgery.

I don't think he has that much value now after this season and the Thrashers are in desperate need of top six forwards so i think he'll stay a Thrasher, with the hope he returns to last years form.

from what i understand, kovalchuck was a big push to get antropov? with kovalchuck moving on, now antropov has had a bad season.

that cap hit was questionable even when antropov was expected to play with kovalchuck. now at his age, and his history for up-and-down play... id say that he has no value.

move him for a contract that someone else doesnt want, which would work for atlanta... deal of unwanted players.

maybe jersey could fit him in if he is good friends with kovalchuck? antropov for rolston and some sort of pick?

If that's the case Atlanta would be kind of dumb to trade him in the offseason. This is a team that has some troubles attracting UFAs, so trade away a potential top 6 forward would seem kind of dumb.

Value though? Likely a 2nd rounder if Atlanta decided to pull the trigger.

As a Ranger fan i'd happily flip Wolski for him, if Atlanta would be interested.

i think they would be open to moving him but his value is really low right now due to his crappy season.

We would have to take back a lot of salary cause losing his salary would put us about 3 mil below the floor

I would do it, value wise. I would miss the size on the wing though and he can play physical
