I wouldn't mind it. He could be a good mentor for Dads.

Yeah, i don't think it means anything because they're really not committing to anything as seen by the lack of numbers on the players' sleeves. Though, the bottom guy is definitely Kulikov, and the top guy could easily be Samsonov, or maybe Santorelli.

Ive never liked Samsonov, but he has looked pretty good with us. Id have no issues keeping him around.

I like him a lot. Adds a nice dimension to our offensive game and probably won't cost too much. A 2nd line LW spot would be perfect for him.

I'm all for keeping Samsonov

Hell, we need a couple more ______ov's! I'd love a red army situation!!!

A lil gimmick wouldn't hurt Yorkman anyway

I'm surprised they didn't use Bouwmeester and Horton there

I'd love to keep him. He has clicked really well with Weiss and Bergfors! They would make a really great 2nd line next season. Now we just need a 1st line.

I never thought we'd see the day when we had Samsonov, it's so odd and he's far different from what he used to be. However, he's clearly succeeding on a team that has little to work with so it's hard not to reward him with a contract. I hope we don't do anything stupid though, because Carolina thought the same thing and didn't get much return on a 3 year, somewhat well paid contract. Keep him honest with just 1 or 2 years.

In any case, there's very few players they could even put in their "blueprint" images right now: Weiss, Booth, Kulikov, Dadonov...but it is odd to put a UFA there. It's hardly, however, something dictated by upper management. I doubt they are that overly dedicated into looking at the web design of the Panthers site

i would like him signed but for 1 yr only. He adds alot, however, im concerned if he will coast on a 2yr+ contract. But he has worked hard and earned serious consideration IMHO.

I can't put my around on why this guys is not successful in the NHL, He is so skilled and shifty, and he can stick-handle in a Phone Booth like I never seen before.

Dumb defensive player... A bit on the perimeter and questionable hockey-sense in the offensive zone...

I don't want Samsonov back on more than a 1-year contract ! And I think we could do better as a top-6 forward signing on the free agents market !

I agree on the one year deal, that is the only way it could work out, that will keep him playing for a job.
I see his value not in the scoring aspect of the game but more in his ability to create plays, PP and holding the puck long enough for his team mates to catch to him.

The fact that Sammy's been a relative star on this team over a few games says more about the team than Sammy.

Therefore, we probably need to give him a one year.
