Might as well get him some NHL games before the playoffs!

I hope that doesn't mean Tanev is in any long term injury.

They could call up Connauton and Flood for all I care, as long as no one on the backend gets hurt anymore. We've got 4 pointless games coming up, against a couple teams full of boneheaded plugs with nothing to lose, like Peckham and Clutterbuck so... I'm a little concerned.

The way they've sent him up and down this year (sent down the day his parents flew in to watch, recalled and then reassigned before he even got a game in, etc.), this would be a pretty fitting april fools gag.

but it will be good to see him get a few more games in at the NHL level here.

Flood isn't under contract with Vancouver.

I'm actually happy to have Sauve come in and play a few games for the Canucks before the regular season is over, but I just hope it doesn't mean that Tanev is out long term. We don't necessarily NEED Tanev, but it's obviously still concerning.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say that without Tanev we would not have won as many games as we did. He played an extremely efficient game and he was much better than anyone could possibly have expected from a depth guy. Long term we need this player in our system.

That's not too much of a limb to go out on. Efficient is the word for his play. And as a hockey-smart guy who two years ago was in Ontario junior, Tanev has tons of time and ability for much further development as a player. The things he doesn't do now--hit and get points--will obviously come as he matures. He's at his worst in his pro career right now.
