Collegiate free agent Andy Miele is said to be making a decision soon on where to sign his first pro contract. The Kings are one of many rumored teams (including the Ducks, Coyotes and Devils) that are pursuing Miele. Here is a highlight video of the Hobey Baker candidate:
If I'm going to compare his skill set to any NHL player today, I'd liken him to Michael Cammalleri. He's got a hell of a shot and an amazing pair of hands.
Wow, nice pull. I remember hearing that he was going to sign with the Devils a couple of days ago and just stopped listening. He would be a really nice add for us.
He is currently in Southern California, which is where his agent is headquartered. It's the same agent (Scott Norton) that represents Dustin Brown.
Talk to the kid, Brownie! It'd be great to add another prospect with offensive upside. Does anyone have anything more to share about his collegiate career?
That said deciding on what young players to acquire by who your current coach is, is just bad management. Coaches come and go, not to mention if you have a chance to acquire an asset you take it, it will become useful one way or another.
wasnt it that hobey baker award players never really amount to anything?
this kid seems like a real over ager. if we get him, sweet, if not, oh wells.
Pretty much, the only notable exceptions I can think of that won the award and then made an impact in the NHL are Ryan Miller, Paul Kariya, Chris Drury, and to some extent Matt Carle... Oh and Jordan Leopold.

Kid looks stocky. Small but thick. I dug his mid range speed. Seems well rounded as 1/2 of the highlights were passes...and dangling. What is he, a center?
