The Blades/Raiders series is currently tied 2 games a piece. There's a possibility we could be seeing Schenn sooner rather than later.

That's a no-brainer. I'm happy the Kings are continuing to win but they need another center badly.

It's 6-0 blades. Schenn won't be in LA this season.

I still dont see Dean burning a year off of Schenn's ELC. Unless the playoff games don't count towards the game played?

He did it for Jack Johnson.

That was to get him to leave Michigan. Not even close to the same situation.

Why waste a year off his contract now if he wasn't willing to do it in November?

What? It didn't have anything to do with Michigan, and it burned a year off his contract. Schenn would have been bumped to #4 center if he had stayed, now he would be our #1 center. It is a chance to help stunt his development by giving him a taste of the NHL playoffs. Dean wouldn't hesitate for a second to call up Schenn if he is available. The big club is the only thing that matters. Schenn is likely the best healthy center in the organization right now.

Jack wasn't going to sign an ELC if he was going to Manchester. Dean and Jack knew he was going to play in LA at the end of 2007 and this would burn a year off his deal. Jack said he would return to Michigan without a contract. Dean didn't want to risk having to wait 2 more years for Jack.

That is why he needed a new contract in 2009 and signed a 2 year deal.

I'm sure the Blades will make all of this moot anyways.

He was still the King's property, they could have easily waited while he finished school and not burned a year off. It is not like they were forced to sign him either way. If the Blades' season is cut short, Schenn will be in Los Angeles 110%. There would be no reason not to bring him up. Always have to give the team the best chance to win.

Like sending Loktionov back to Manchester and waiving Sturm instead of Harrold? Sturm has five points in Washington and Penner has six points in LA.

Sturm > Harrold

Sturm > Harrold
Harrold is more useful as a utility player, so I don't think that's a fair comparison.

Sturm > Harrold
Sturm on Washington > Sturm on the Kings.

And its not because he's playing better for them or anything.

And you think Harrold would have been claimed?

Sturm wouldn't have made a big difference for LA, but I was just showing that Dean makes moves that aren't always about putting the best team on the ice.

Murray is also not a fan of rookies. No way does Schenn replace Handzus with Murray. He's a little more comfortable with Lewis since he's shown that he can play defense. Schenn was not a popular player with Murray on the defensive side.

You guys really think you can take a player from Juniors right into the NHL playoffs? Schenn needs another training camp and a lot of regular season games to get prepared. Schenn isn't even a lock for the NHL next year. He may end up in Manchester with Loktionov in LA.

Yah, I thought the replay was very clear that he's going to receive a suspension. He followed through like a UFC fighter, a clear head shot with bad intentions, not trying to get Handzus off the puck, simply trying to knock him silly.

They are highlighting the hit on the NHL network and it is clear that it was a direct and intentional head shot.

I don't understand how anyone could possible see it differently

Handzus is also apparently a flopper, according to some of them. I wasn't aware.

I notice we haven't made a thread whining about the hit on the main boards. We don't seem to need to whine about injustices to the rest of the world. I like that.

Just watched the Ribiero hit on NHL on the Fly and you can clearly see him follow through with the elbow to Zus's head.

I was surprised that Ribeiro's elbow wasnt a penalty. But whatever. At least Zeus is okay.

I've been saying all season that Dallas is overrated. They have a horrible defense and didn't do much to address that. Another thing... Brandon freakin Segal is starting for them. Like I said, overrated, overachievers for the first half of the season.

I saw this post on my phone and without seeing who posted it, I immediately figured it was you. The resident Sturm fanboy didn't let me down.

Ribeiro took the head. With an elbow. Not remotely a hit to the body.

Refs were not gonna call anything all game. Dallas was pulling crap all game, even Smyth's concussion inducing highstick was let go.
