Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden: Game #79 @ Philadelphia Flyers

Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden

The RulesWhat is the poll for?

You are voting for the player of the game - the one who put forth the most effort, who put the team on his shoulders, who contributed the most.

Do not vote for the player who had the best statistical game just because he had the best statistical game.

This does not mean you should not vote for the player of who had the best statistical game, but do not vote for him just because of that fact.

Who can I vote for?

You may vote for any player who dressed for the game and played at least one shift. If the player you want to vote for is not included in the poll, select "Other" and indicate in your post who you wish to vote for. In the case that I egregiously miss the player who everyone wants to vote for in the poll, I will count the votes in the thread.

What is this "The Good, The Bad, The Redden" nonsense?

It is my twist on the title of the famous spaghetti western movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Since multiple players may have outstanding games and you can only vote for one player in the poll, this affords you the opportunity to recognize multiple players, or a facet of the team, for their commendable play ("The Good"). This also affords you the opportunity to rip players, or a facet of the team, for their particularly substandard play ("The Bad"). Finally, just as "The Player of the Game" affords you the opportunity to recognize the best, this affords you the opportunity to commend the crème de la crème of the worst, who delivered an atrocious performance, or whose singular (or multiple) bad plays directly led to the the detriment of the team ("The Redden").

Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy

The Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player who most exemplifies the qualities that Alex brought to the ice game in and game out. Most notable was his talent for wraparounds. Thusly, this award is given to the player who has the most wraparound attempts throughout the game.

The award tonight goes to Brian Boyle, with 1 wraparound attempt against Philadelphia.

Hard to pick a POTG today, everyone was rock solid. I'll give it to Hank for another big game and a perfect shootout performance to get us the extra point.

What a game!

I thought Gaborik was great tonight, Lundqvist was good.

Great effort, well deserved 2 points. Just no 3 point game tonight. Only 2 points out of 6th with 3 to go. MTL has the tie breaker though.

I've never felt this way after a win before. I'm shaking, and I can't even smile because I am still scared.

POTG: Staal

Good: Gaborik

Henrik all the way. He doesn't have to pitch shutout's for us to win...he just has to NEAAAARLY pitch shutouts... We'd be bottom 3 in the league without him

Not sure if anyone is gonna vote for him, but Christensen was really good all game as well, and of course is so money in the shootout.

Tie between Lundy and Staal. Voted for Staal because he played through a broken nose.

If we make the playoffs, remember the McCabe trade, and the goal he got with half a second left today.

PP looked good today, even though they only scored on the 5 on 3.

PotG: gotta be Hank
The good: A lot
The bad: I think Boyle was at fault for both Philly goals but I'll need to see replays again

The Redden: the new NHL tiebreaker

Great game and although I would've preffered you to win in normal time, as long as you won. Lundqvist was insane, great goaltender in your hands.

POTG: Have to give it to Staalsy for playing so many minutes after getting a broken nose and taking the beating that he did.

Good: Hank of course, Gabby looked better, Danny G right up there too.
Bad: Cally's backpasses, leaving Zherdev that wide open (McD)
The Redden: Carcillo and his pitiful excuse for a mustache. Also, the Flyers trying to fight guys while wearing visors. Scum.

POTG: I punched the Marc Staal button, but I was also leaning on the Lundqvist button

The Good: The team wanted to win. That's all I ask for.

The Bad: that rubber legged stretch during the last half of the third.

The Redden: I gave out my year's quota of Reddens after the Islanders game. Hopefully I don't need any more ;-)

POTG: Staal. Broken nose, blocked shots, was a warrior

Good: Hank, Girardi, Dubinsky, Anisimov

Bad: OT play, looked horrible and a mess.

Redden: Nobody stood out in this regard.
