POTG: Have to give it to Staalsy for playing so many minutes after getting a broken nose and taking the beating that he did.
Good: Hank of course, Gabby looked better, Danny G right up there too.
Bad: Cally's backpasses, leaving Zherdev that wide open (McD)
The Redden: Carcillo and his pitiful excuse for a mustache. Also, the Flyers trying to fight guys while wearing visors. Scum.
McD was on his way to the bench hurt. It was Boyle's job to cover for him considering he told him to go to the bench. After McD left, Boyle just decided to float over to the other side and ignore Zherdev when he was driving down the middle.
Meh, doesn't really matter at this point anymore. Had we finished with the same number of ROW as Carolina or Buffalo, we still would lose the tiebreaker as they have the season series on us. I was just happy getting the extra point regardless of when it came. Now if Carolina loses in regulation tonight, the magic number is down to 4. We'd be in the drivers seat. Assuming Carolina wins out, we'd have to go 2-1 or 1-0-2 to get in. Any combination of 4 points. If they only go 2-1 which seems more realistic, we'd only have to go 1-2. Again, this is assuming Carolina loses in regulation.
Big win today. Was hoping to split the back to backs but we get that at the very least. Go out in front of the energized Garden crowd and take 2 more tomorrow, LGR!
Lundqvist and Staal were excellent today, and Fedotenko played a good game as well.
It seems like fatigue is setting in for some of these guys in a major way. Callahan and Boyle were making some bad mental mistakes. McD and Stepan appear to be going through some growing pains right now. Bad timing, but there's nothing that can be done about it.
Wolski and EC came through in the shootout. But I am concerned about them come playoff time because it seems like neither of them are really suited for "grind it out" playoff hockey. Wolski barely plays, I wouldn't be surprised if the Rangers tried to get rid of him over the summer.
wow the most nervous i have ever been watching a game, heart was racing from the last 3 minutes all the way to the shoot out! thank god we pulled through
POTG: Hank, Staal, Girardi
The Good: The PK, and the guys listed above + Gaborik
The Bad: Boyle
The Redden: 8 guys on the ice at once haha
Went with Staal... broken nose early in the 1st and he played 34 mins? Beast!
Great win as we needed those 2 points. We need the Buffalo-Carolina game to end in regulation. We're 1 up on Buffalo, 3 up on Carolina. We control our own destiny. Not much else you can ask for.
NYR: vs Bos, vs Atl, vs NJ
Buf: @Car, vs TB, vs Phi, @CLB
Car: vsBuf, vs Det, @ATL, vs TB
Gaborik was great out there. That's the best defensive hockey I've seen him play so far. Glad we grabbed 2 points, now I'm just hoping buffalo wins tonight to keep the 3 point lead over carolina.
POTG: Staal/Girardi
The Good: Capitalizing on a 5 on 3
The Bad: Another former Ranger scores against them
The Redden: Carcillo and his sorry pathetic excuse as a human being
