definitely Buffalo, a win by them would make our road easier for sure

Take a Buff win in regulation, they've got a couple of tough games after this, then we try to concentrate on moving into 7th. I'm fine with whatever spot puts us against the Caps, would like to avoid the Flyers in Rd 1.

Buffalo in regulation.

A Carolina OT win is the worst possible scenario.

Exactly. They've got TB and Philly at home and then Columbus on the road. They could easily lose 2 of those. If we go 2-1 we come out on top. But once again it probably doesn't matter whether we finish in 7th or 8th unless somehow we make it to the ECF to face them...in which case the home ice advantage could be a positive, or not. lol

Eh, not really all that tough. Tampa and Philly have been crap the last few weeks, and Columbus IS crap. Looks like a fairly easy schedule to me.

Guess the playoffs should be a cakewalk then. I mean with crappy teams like Tampa and Philly in there we should win the cup easily.

I could care less about 7th place at this point.

Just don't miss. Washington has as good a shot at the #1 seed as Philly.

If Carolina wins in a non SO, they have more 'real' wins than us.

It is beyond important Carolina lose in reg..

Even if they win in the shootout, they have the tiebreaker on us due to season series.

We aint winning any tiebreakers. We're going to have to beat them straight up.

They are Carolina fans and are hoping to knock the Rangers out of the playoffs?

I do believe "Wins" period is the tiebreaker if our "real wins" are tied.

No?

Yea no doubt that I am pulling for BUF. Would much rather have that 3 point lead over 9th than be in 7th place RIGHT now.

BUF wins: We are in 8th, 1 pt behind BUF and 3 points up on CAR

CAR wins: We are in 7th place, but BUF and CAR are both 1 pt behind us.

The second situation increases the chances that we could actually miss the playoffs. MUCH rather have that cushion.

Whatever happens we still control our own destiny. Not a terrible place to be with 3 games remaining.
