And those stupid back to back games. They should be limited to 10 per year and none after March 1 for everyone.

And no more interconference games after March 1. Seriously why was Tampa Bay playing Chicage last night?

And please get those circles removed from under the armpits of the uniforms. We have the best uniforms in all of sports until the players raise their arms and then I just cringe. And could the players wear their white road jerseys Friday night for the last home game and fan appreciation night.

I actually LIKE the piping and the armpits. Adds depth to the uniform, and actually makes them look sleeker. Without the gray, it's just a big hunk of white. Draws out the gray highlights in the logo.

He's there to answer fans questions about the Buffalo Sabres, not here to fix the national hockey league. lol....

The first thing I think I'm going to do is thank him--just the proactive approach, to detail and all the little things that have added up to a sea change, not just in the rhetoric but in the actual product/presentation.

I know some folks don't like the piping/grey but in the scheme of things and given recent history they really are minor. More to the point and in keeping with the separation from past regimes the best thing the Sabres could do is to put a moratorium on jersey changes for a couple years.

I hope to push the idea of having preseason games on the Sabres website.... Stream that S***! No reason why we need to comb the Internet, trying to find a feed from Austria or Belgium and post those links here so the hardcore Sabres fans can enjoy the preseason too! TSN, NHLnetwork, ESPN, and others do it! We can too! Stop being so JV.

Not entirely. Because of Golisano/Quinn requesting Friday home games and Saturday games being common with most teams, it creates a lot of Fri/Sat back to back games. If the Sabres weren't so insistent on getting those Friday home dates, they wouldn't have as many as they do now (leading the league in them).

I see,
Leads the league by what 1-3? Or by a huge amount?

I've said it before, I don't necessarily like the piping and gray pits, but I don't want to see another jersey change. You're never going to please all of the people. They're great the way they are. Perfect should not be the enemy of good.

Exactly. And this is the first time ever we've lead the league in back-to-back games. I don't think it's an issue at all.

Without looking up every team, Sabres this year had 16 games on Friday. After a Friday game, Sabres played the next day 13 times. Friday home games 11. So, you figure about 25% of the schedule is back to backs on Friday-Saturday, without doing research that seems high.

EDIT: this site has the Sabres at 22 back to back games, which is half the season +. Least is Vancouver at 11 games.

Over the second place team, maybe 1-3. But compared to the average it's probably more like 5-6 more, and even if they didn't lead the league in previous years, they were always above average.

I agree that going back to the brighter blue is a relatively major change that can wait a bit.

But removing the piping wouldn't be a major change at all. It would just be tweaking the current jerseys and making them much better in the process. It would be similar to the Flyers changing the number font on their retro jerseys a few seasons ago: http://www.icethetics.info/blog/2008...e-numbers.html

Without knowing how many more back to back Fri/Sat games and how that effected our record vs. Other teams Back to back Fri/Sat and their records ... It's hard to be against it, or to think it is a significant issue that requires attention by Ted Black or any NHL head.
