Probably never. Every year teams are within points of each other near the end of the season, they'll bring up shootouts and how they make a difference in the standings. I've gotten over it but it gets ****ing annoying after a while.

If we were to make a deep run into the playoffs, it still will be played; how one point kept them out of the playoffs and how they are contenders this year.

Even if there were some kind of divine intervention - where the Rangers actually do get to hoist the Cup - we'd still hear about that shootout next season.

Is Keith Jones serious? Playoff overtime in hockey is the greatest thing in sports.

shoot outs in the playoffs? Even though it's been a strength I would hate to see that.

Did Keith Jones seriously say he wanted a playoff game decided by a shootout? Evidently he took one too many punches to his head...moron.

Keith Jones is a dumbass. The whole versus team just bothers me.

As for the replays, until the shootout is a massive thing of the past, we won't stop seeing it. Especially when it is once again dictating who makes the playoffs this year. Such a terrible thing the NHL did implementing that ****.

I think 95% of the league would have a serious issue with that.

I for one, wish all games had indefinite overtimes. Make the schedule a bit more spread, if you must.

Also, ditch the loser point.

Playoff games should NEVER be decided by SO, EVER.

Though I do like the excitement of 4 on 4, not sure I want to deviate to that either.

It would be cool to see those type of games during the regular season but if teams had to play double, triple overtimes constantly, injuries would skyrocket.

I didn't catch who's calling the game, is that Strader? I'm a big Strader fan, loved when he did games on NBC.

I'd stop watching hockey if they put the shootouts in the playoffs.

That'd be great, watching a team who played ~100 games win their cup through a sideshow.

I don't think they would go that long that often.

If you want, make all extra period 4 on 4.

But no 3 on 3, that is awful.

IMO 20 mins of 4 on 4 and if you must, a shootout.

Seriously, it wouldn't take that long for a team to score during indefinite 4-on-4 overtime. Lots of teams play cautious, waiting for the shootout.

I don't mind Brickley either even though he's from the Boston team. Once you get past the accent he's alright. Looks like we got a solid broadcast crew tonight at least.

I for one get amusement from his posts. Especially the massive homer ones for Stepan.
