Callahan Out Indefinitely - Broken Ankle

Reports coming from all over the place now. I know there was a thread without a source yesterday saying his ankle/foot was broken that was shutdown, but now some legitimate sources are running with this.

Heading to Rangers media availability now. Unfortunately, sounding like Callahan injury rumor may be accurate.

Lots of rumors on Callahan ankle flying around. Don't freak out until confirmed. But u may want to start preparing yourselves. Just sayin'.

off to #NYR practice..will report on Cally's health & other relevant news shortly...
Cerny quote is most concerning. As an MSG employee, you have to believe he knows what's really going on, and if he was healthy I would think it wouldn't be worth mentioning.

Fingers crossed, but there seems to be basis for concern here beyond just source-less rumors.

If this is true, it may be Zuccarello time once again, facilitated by necessity.

Like several others, hearing Ryan Callahan injury rumors. It doesn't sound good.

Being reported on WFAN that he is done for the season.

Just heard it on the radio at the 20/20 update.

And there's the downside to blocking so many shots.

I would assume it's true. I was at Warren 77 this morning at around 12:30 and that was the news going around there. Wolski, Prust and Avery were there and they confirmed it.

That's why I hate blocking shots. It's appreciated but it's very risky.

If I were a player, I'd pick my spots when it comes to blocking shots.

Wait until we actually get something concrete before jumping off the bridge.

Up a goal late in the third period certainly qualifies as a good spot, no?

Confirmation that WFAN reported it. Still not confirmed by the team.

Just heard on WFAN that Callahan is out for the season. Still haven't gotten official word from #NYR. Will be in Greenburgh shortly.

Disaster...this team this year cannot catch any breaks with injuries. Every key player outside of Lundqvist has been hurt for extended periods this season. incredible they're in the spot they're in.

total loser mentality...i absolutely LOVE the way this team plays and cally wouldn't be cally if he 'picked his spots' cause he was a pansy afraid to get hurt.

Here at #NYR practice facility, there is no official word yet from #NYR about Cally despite rumors of broken ankle...

I will have news here and on team's official Twitter @thenyrangers as soon as there is any OFFICIAL update on Callahan
Teams don't put non-injuries on team's official Twitters or give non-injuries this kind of fanfare.

I'd say it's a foregone conclusion he's done for the year.

i guess this means we better hope Drury comes back for PK and extra minutes.

this drastically alters my hopes for the playoffs - now i see the playoffs much more as a chance for the kids to get experience

Well with all these rumors flying around, there's gotta be some sort of injury. I think now we just gotta hope it's nothing too serious.
