Buffalo grabs Kennedy to make up for the stupid decision to buy him out now that the organization actually has money, that is unless Regier is dumb.
It wasn't stupid. He wanted a 1 way deal and Buffalo wouldn't give it to him. Considering this is the 2nd team that's moved him around on waivers now I'd say it was the right choice.
Leighton will most likely get claimed as a 800 K backup next year, Flyers now assume 800 K of dead cap space, Holmer should be fired on the spot, what a ****ing moron
I was just reading the TSN article on my blackberry about Leighton being on waivers and it's hilarious. They said a possible opponent of Philly may claim him just so he can't duplicate his performance from last year
Do they actually believe this would happen? Too funny.
Like what, bringing the Flyers to the finals again? Say whatever you want, the guy had 3 shutouts in the semi-finals.
I think I could have had 2.
Stupid is as stupid does. How can Paul Holmgren, who had dug himself a pretty nice cap-space grave, pick up his shovel and start working on a sub-basement. If Leighton gets claimed - and there is little reason to believe he won't - I can't fathom how he will explain this lobotomized move. Oh yes, I can.
a) Who the heck knows?
b) It is what it is.
c) What can you do?
Question for philly fans is he replacing a goalie in the rotation??
doesnt make sense to bring him up...even a rival may claim him just so they dont have to possibly face him......????
According to articles posted in the thread on the Flyers' Forum, Homer is doing it as a depth move in case there are injuries in the playoffs, not to replace Bob or Boosh.
It's been said a 1000 times already but Holmgren is a retard. Risking losing an asset and having dead cap space just so you have a 3rd goalie available for playoffs? WTF?
After last springs effort, expect someone to pick up Leighton.
After his effort in the ****ing AHL most see him as a dirt cheap back up, this move is ****ing idiotic. Unless he has written consent from 29 other gms to not claim him, this is retarded !

So you guys are losing 800K of cap next year because of this retard?
Anybody saying Islanders, I'm not sure if it's sarcasm or not after the whole Nabokov thing but we don't need a goaltender.
Any team who's back up is on an expiring contract has to look at claiming him, Tough to find somewhat decent backups for 750K or less, plus you get to **** the FLyers cap for next year, win win ???
That's **** up. Like someone in the East wouldn't claim him if only for that fact. All the strides he made to get Giroux and Carter on good deals goes down the crapper when he does things like this. Man, I feel sorry for you guys. This is Tallon-esque, so don't be surprised to see someone step in and give him the boot in the offseason.

I'm assuming sarcasm.
I get the reasoning behind the move, you want a goalie that is proven to some degree in the playoffs as an insurance policy. But it seems like a very large somewhat unnecessary risk for Philly, especially when you consider almost 1 mil in dead cap space next year.
