I has more to do with the fact that most of our offense has involved him in some form lately.
He also seems to dictate how the rest of the team plays.
But you're right, there is nothing we can do but go out and play.
Callahan has 1 point in the last 6 games. Last nights assist to Dubinsky.
Big part of the team but the Rangers are used to it by now.
Quote:
“It’s an unfortunate thing that our team has kind of had this year,” said rookie Derek Stepan, one of just four players to appear in all 80 games this season. “We started out with Dru (broken finger in the first scrimmage of training camp), then we lost (Marian Gaborik to a separated shoulder in the home opener, when Drury broke his finger again), then we lost Cally, then we lost (Brandon Dubinsky to a stress fracture in his leg), then we lost (Ruslan Fedotenko) a couple of times, right? Did I miss anyone?”
Marc Staal had a knee injury and an undisclosed one, Dan Girardi missed two games before the All-Star break, Erik Christensen had a knee injury, Alex Frolov is out for the season with a torn ACL, Derek Boogaard has not played since suffering a concussion in December, Vinny Prospal missed the first 53 games after preseason knee surgery, Michal Rozsival had knee problems before he was traded and both Michael Del Zotto and Todd White were hurt after they were sent down to the minors.
I'm no longer surprised by the massive amount of horse-**** that occurs to this team this season. How Hank has been able to stay healthy is beyond me....
The Rangers seemingly have lost catalyst Ryan Callahan for at least the remainder of the regular season. For now his team has not clinched a playoff spot however they do hold a 94.8 percent chance with last night’s encouraging 5-3 win over the Boston Bruins.

easy, cally and girardi have been blocking all the hard shots haha
And calm down about the Gilroy to wing move. This is a way to get him back on the ice (he hasn't played in a while) while also giving Torts some flexibility with a 7th defenseman. If you haven't noticed, McDonagh hasn't been great the past couple games and was benched at times. Plus Staal and Girardi have logged about a billion minutes over the past few games as well.
Newberry wasn't going to bring anything to the table anyways, and Zuc hasn't played well for a while now. It's not like this move is coming at the expense of some better option.
What about next season and the future ? This will certainly not be his last injurie caused by blocking. This guy playes with his heart outside the jersey and willing to from himself from shots from Letang and Chara. How can NYR try to prevent him from getting injured in the future ? I dont know. The guy is important in all types of play.
That's the downside to blocking so many shots. Makes you appreciate Dan Girardi even more, missed 2 games all year and leads the league in blocked shots.
hey guys, we will see who steps up in callahans absence. it will be a good measure to see who should be brought back next season. obviously this is a tough blow but this team has stepped up in the face of adversity all season long and i expect torts to have the guys ready to go, regardless of who the opponent is.
hank will need to do his thing, and we will need some timely goals. we should be able to hold up.
win or lose we all should be so proud of the strides that this team has made this season.
to say the future is bright is an UNDERSTATEMENT
get well soon r-callz
