Just wanted to let you guys know, pretty much the entire Senators fan base is cheering for the Flyers tonight. Please kick our ***** and violate us with a wine bottle...
Power play adjustments and what could be used tonight:
First unit: Giroux, Zherdev, Richards, Timonen, JVR.
Second unit: Carter, Leino, Hartnell, Carle, Meszaros.
I really liked what Giroux and Zherdev did the other day on the PP. JVR has looked really good on the point. So I would be fine with them two units. Maybe I would take Hartnell or Carter over Richards on the first unit, just to put a body in front of the net. Put Richy on the 2nd unit with Leino.
When Briere and Prongs come back for the playoffs, then who would you like to see out there? Im having a hard time putting two units together. We have so many capable players who can execute, we just have to find out who feels best with eachother. Certainly Giroux, Pronger, Briere, and Timmo will be on the first unit, atleast thats how I view things.

It's a difficult question to answer. Ultimately, power plays are judged by goals scored and there is little margin for prettiness or small victories. The power play has been ugly for much of the season but without Pronger, it has been repulsive. The addition of Pronger looks terrific but the injury has limited his ability to grip the stick and that in itself can be alarming. His ability, when functioning, alters the defensive tactics.
There is also an apparent mental issue, especially at home games where struggling power plays have been routinely scrutinzed league-wide more so than road games. I do prefer Briere on the PP. They need to get pucks in from the point but also battle and get dirty in front of the goalie.
