New Lines 4/5

4/05

Clifford-Richardson-Simmonds
Smyth-Stoll-Brown
Penner-Handzus-Moller
Ponikarovsky-Lewis-Westgarth

I don't know what to say. The Penner line just doesn't work.

Yotes are a fast team, Harrold should be in.

Quick will start tomorrow.

Nothing but role players against a team that kills us with speed...

Solution? Plug in Kevin Westgarth for that offensive creativity and speed!

Wastegarth doesn't even do his so called job anymore. Clifford is the "enforcer" on the kings whether you want to admit it or not. Atleast give Harrold another look at the wing rather than playing a pylon for 10 minutes a night.

The rest of the lineup is a crapshoot but thats what happens when you have ten 3rd liners.

I really hate that Westgarth is playing..But, he's been fine the last couple games. You can't really expect much from him. Just pray he doesn't turn it over in the defensive zone. But obviously, I would rather see Harrold in because he does bring a tiny bit more offense. And Clifford seems to be the only one fighting anyways.

Keep putting the lines in the blender until you find a combination that can score 2+ goals in a game.

Until Johnson and Doughty start contributing offensively it just doesn't matter all that much. The D have to contribute for the Kings to win games without Kopitar and Williams.

Johnson's face in particular has been on the milk carton for WAY too long.

These lines give me heartburn. And so does Terry Murray's coaching but that's another matter.

Is it next season already?

I'm not understanding why there hasn't been another call up from Manchester...someone like Holloway, King or Kozoun. Obviously this teams' biggest weakness is scoring, and that was before Kopitar and Williams went down!

Get Westgarth out of there and put someone in who can put the puck in the net. Obviously they are trying with Moller, but that isn't working out very well....

oh christ.

btw, would it kill them to try Penner with Stoll and Brown? Currently our other two best top sixers?

I say switch Lewis and Zus. Zus and Penner are obviously not working. Lewis did well in his lil stint on the top 2 lines. Give him another shot.
I said after the Nucks game Harrold should be in, and i'm still saying it.

I think we should change the first goal of the game contest to who will end up least negative in the plus/minus stat. I don't see how the Kings score a goal. Let's pray for some lucky bounces!

This offense makes me sad. I miss Deadmarsh. I miss Palffy. I miss Williams. But most of all I miss Kopitar

Hopefully Schenn, Toffoli, Vey, and Kozun can all develop into NHL level talents who can pot 20-30, maybe even 40(toffoli) goals someday for this team.

I know he's the forgotten one around here (for good reason - not sure how hip surgery for a 20-something turns into a 5 month ordeal, but I digress)... Scott Parse would be a welcome addition right about now.

Scott Parse would have been a welcome addition in February to take Westgarth's place at least.

Why can't they keep Brown with Lewis. They seemed to show some good life.

Smyth - Stoll - Brown

LOL. Statistically the worst line in the NHL when they played together. The two dumbest players on the team in Smyth and Stoll and another one who is not exactly known for amazing game sense either. And we wonder why they give up so many goals against.

I guess this line had only been exiled to Elba and not St. Helena.

Shame on you Terry Murray.

Murray has really out done himself with these lines. Which one is supposed to score the 2 goals?

Not surprised that he's going back to Quick. I would have gone with Bernier, but both goalies are more than capable of winning.

I think he plans to play Bernier Friday, Quick Saturday to close out.
