Kariya talking to Oilers, Sharks, and Kings

I've been a fan of Palffy since late into his Islander days but I've always been a fan of Paul Kariya. While he has not been as productive as Ziggy in recent years, he's a disciplined athlete who commits to training (unlike ZP) and still considered one of the elite talents of the game. Both have issues with fragility but that playoff goal after coming back from that devastating Scott Stevens hit, shows what a gamer he is. Kariya > Palffy IMO. For the record, I've been a Kings fan since just before their Gretzky-led playoff run.

I'd rather have Kariya then Palffy to be perfectly honest, and I've been a Palffy fan since his days on the Isle.

I'm at this point where I'll take either, and hope that with either signing we can get a decent defenseman to boot.

Kariya is 2 years younger, will sign for less and was a captain of a former team.

Advantage Paul.

Chicago is apparently putting a 5 million a year contract on the table for Kariya.

I don't think so. Not unless half of their roster will be filled with no talent pylons.

I can't stand Kariya, but he did earn some respect getting up from that Stevens hit like he did.

I think Palffy is a better player because he makes the players around him better. Kariya does too, to a degree, but I'd rather have Palffy.
