Smith and Ellis could both use a year in the minors with a team that cares about their development. They were kind of cast aside last year

True, but if either breaks out in Iowa (very possible), Hedberg would be a good trade to a team needing temporary- or cheap goal help.

I thought Hedberg was staying in Sweden for sure.

Dallas has the best puck handling duo in the league now.

Yep, I agree. I really liked what we saw of Ellis. I really like what we are doing today.

I watched the Nucks a little bit on CI last year. I remember some games where Moose looked really, really good..

Good move, assuming the salary is reasonable. Having Ellis & Smith in the minors plus Hedburg gives us some flexibility at the trade deadline...

The kids should really benefit from what looks to be a decent team shaping up in Iowa..
