Hey, that trade (for more offense) might come at the deadline. Kings should at least look to sign "D" and maybe an enforcer at this point. Ziggy's soft, not good in the room and is being a big primadonna.

The article is worded poorly. it's 4.5 Mil a year

We don't even hear everything and what we do hear is mostly rumors and speculation. Can you imagine the kinds of trade offers and FA signings that a NHL GM's office hears/requests/considers on a daily basis this summer?!?!

$4.5 million/year seems more realistic............and I am pretty sure the Kings wouldn't match that.

P.S. T2M please change your Avatar. You will make us all look bad..

KJ, I was about to point out the same thing.

I don't see the team signing Palffy. We just don't have $4.5MM in the budget.

ya, i think u guys are mistaken if u think he signed for $2 mil a year, it's $4.25 each year for 2 season, which is a pretty hefty outbid. at that price, im not so sure i woulda taken kariya. at the same time, if palffy is lookin for $5 mil, i would then have to consider kariya again. cause if palffy and kariya were to go for the same price, i'd prob go for kariya.

i agree, and i'm actually pretty surprised that they got roenick before a defenseman (not that i'm complaining). i thought for sure that after demitra the next priority would be a quality blueliner. opportunity knocks, i suppose.

Oiler fans would start jumping from rooftops if that happens. They seem to think he's their next guy.

Yeah, I think JR kind of fell into their laps.

After the season Kariya had in 03-04, I surprised he went for that much money.

In 51 games he only had 11 goals, and was a -5!

Not worth 4.5 million a year. Maybe 3-3.5M.

Nashville payed for the Kariya's name. I think it was probably used as a marketing tool. To try and attract more fans.

4.5 million makes me feel a lot better about the contract...if it was truly 2.25 mil per year, then every fan of every team with cap space would be frustrated with their GM's....

however, other than the Ducks, the Preds is the Team i cant stand...so i'm not happy they added a star player...but i also realize now that their two best players combined weight is about 300 lbs...so that could be a serious problem for them
