IMO the Sens will trade Kuba at next yr's deadline & maybe Carkner. The following yr they will try & trade Gonchar at the deadline & the yr after that they will attempt to trade Phillips around the trade deadline. This will allow a smooth transition to their young prospects & time to develop properly in Bingo without being rushed before they are ready. When an NHL defenceman is hurt or traded they will bring up whoever is playing the best between Wiercioch, Gryba, Cowen & Rundblad. They may even give one of their other guys some games as well if they are playing better.

Gonchar should be better once we have a coach that knows how to run a PP.

Kuba should be traded or bought out.

we're stuck with kuba unless we buy him out, which i doubt we do. i bet you murray is hoping the horror show that was kuba this year was caused by injury and that with a full season to rest his broken leg and back, he'll be somewhat serviceable next year. but there is no way we can trade him.

How come there's no option for keeping both?

Just kidding, trade both

i want to keep gonchar. I think there will be some payoff from him working with our young guys on their offensive game.

Kuba, on the other hand, should go.

I don't see any good reason to get rid of Gonchar, except that some people are really not comfortable with players making a lot more money than them

It's not like we will need the cap space for something else anyway

Phillips-Lee
Gonchar-Rundblad
Cowen-Karlsson
Carkner

Gryba and Wiercioch have a good chance to crack the roster the following year, but Carkner will be UFA then and Gonchar will only have 1 year left.

Kuba seems to be like the odd-man out. Trade, waive, buy him out, we will need his roster spot for a young guy

Gonchar has more upside. He just had a piss poor unlucky season. I say, keep Gonchar and free cap with Kuba.

I don't know WTF some of you are thinking with statements like "Keep Kuba" are you ****ing nuts? Do you know we want to win games? I swear to god the past couple of games, Wiercioch>Kuba.

Cowen-Karlsson
Gonchar-Lee
Phillips-Rundblad
Carkner

Does anyone here see a spot for Kuba? Nope.

Mark my words, he will be gone.

Again, assuming we don't just give spots to rookies, why not at least give Kuba a shot at camp? Wouldn't hurt.

I thought about it just after I had created and saved the thread; apparently you can't modify a poll once saved.

Or It's all about the user error code : id 10 t

Some GM at the draft might take a chance on him - his history is better than this past season (Kuba). Don't care about the return as long as its not a roster player we don't want. Prospect for Binghamton is fine.

Gonchar should go if we can get a little something back (Prospect/pick). He always looks stiff out there to me, like his legs don't work any more. He was always one, along with Kovalev, Alfie and a few others , that seem to prefer the game be slowed down in my opinion. That's one reason we had such a chunky season.

We chose Phillips as mentor. Our D will be fine next year.

Phillips, Lee, Karlsson, Cowen, Rundblad, DSmith, Carkner, Wiercioch (improved up here), Hale, Benoit and I suspect a UFA will all compete for 7 spots

I think Derrick Smith make the club as the 6 next year; Carkner as the 7 when we need him. He played well up here.

Cowen - Karlsson
Phillips - Lee
DSmith - Rundblad
Carkner

And if both Kuba and Gonchar go, expect a UFA signing I think just to keep the pot hot.

How exactly do we get rid of Gonchar? He's had a bad year but it'd be a bad idea to get rid of him outright unless we get a good offer (which I don't see happening.)

I saw Gochar at Rideau today shopping at Hugo Boss. This solidifies my position that he must be traded....

Gonchar will be a lot better next season. His first year with the Penguins was awful and people were wanting to trade him just simply as a salary dump. Good thing they aren't GMs.

Kuba wait on, but trading him may be the best option but finding a taker may be difficult.

Kuba was supposed to be traded back in 08, not given a 3 years contract..

If another team offers an underperforming forward with a similar contract, take it.
