4/6 Mashinter recalled

Per the AHL transaction page - Mashinter has been recalled.
This is the final 'normal' recall the Sharks can use for the remainder of the regular season.

So I guess Clowe isn't playing.

More likely an extra body, just in case.

If Clowe can't go at morning skate (circa 11:30), you don't have time to recall someone from Worcester and get them to Anaheim before the start of the game.

So what's the difference between an emergency injury call-up and a regular call-up? I mean, if this is because presumably Clowe can't go (although your point is well-taken LS, they might just be hedging), isn't that an emergency so we have 12 healthy forwards?

Emergency = less than 12 healthy forwards (or 6 healthy D or 2 healthy goalies).

It is not (yet) known if Clowe (or for that matter Nichol) will be ready to play tonight.

If Clowe for sure was out (and Nichol no way available), then it could be considered an emergency recall.

Good. Scratch one of the top 3 if needed. The team has the divison wrapped up and even though they still need to win, I see Anaheim playing chippy tonight.

Of course it would be great to have Clowe available for the Ducks game as he can fight if needed. That said, he really needs to recover from what ever his injury is, and were I TMac, I would sit him just so he doesn't get the idea he needs to fight someone.

Very good.

Solid light-heavy. Not quite as dominant as Clowe is, but he rarely seems to lose any fights. He is very willing to trade haymakers, but he needs to work on his balance.

Mash is like Parros in that both need to work on their balance in fights.

I'd say he beat parros in the fight portion of that event, but in the elbow drop to the head after the fight department, parros won.

can you send an injured player down to the minors?

Not really.

And with only four days/two games left in the pay period, there's not much cap difference.

It looked to me like it wasn't from the fall but that his face was scraped across the ice by Parros so it's probably a laceration.

Parros actually looked a little concerned for Mashinter after that fight. Hope he's okay.

The blood seriously looked like video game blood. It was kind of scary. But he walked off on his own power and even tossed the towel in the air, so it didn't seem like he was barely holding his face together.

It looked like it was just a cut so he'll likely be sent back to the AHL, or Desjardins will be.

I've really been trying to get confirmation from Capgeek but if I'm reading the numbers right (which I'm probably not but...) the Sharks will have eaten through their LTIR by Saturday (w/ Mashinter on the roster).

Yeah, I give Parros credit. He realized Mash was injured immediately and if you watch he immediately raised his hand and waived the trainers over, and moved to get out of the way as soon as possible.

I actually like Parros a lot. For an enforcer, I think he's pretty much a class act. And you gotta love the 'stach.

And after Sunday it doesn't matter one way or the other as there is no more salary being paid.

Im right there with ya! I got home a watched the ducks feed and you can see Parros talking to Mash right after the fall. Then when hes in the box you can see him talk to another player and say " hes gunna be ok ?" and nod in approval. Hes one of the ducks I wont talk bad about.
