Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden: Game #81 vs. Atlanta Thrashers

Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden

The RulesWhat is the poll for?

You are voting for the player of the game - the one who put forth the most effort, who put the team on his shoulders, who contributed the most.

Do not vote for the player who had the best statistical game just because he had the best statistical game.

This does not mean you should not vote for the player of who had the best statistical game, but do not vote for him just because of that fact.

Who can I vote for?

You may vote for any player who dressed for the game and played at least one shift. If the player you want to vote for is not included in the poll, select "Other" and indicate in your post who you wish to vote for. In the case that I egregiously miss the player who everyone wants to vote for in the poll, I will count the votes in the thread.

What is this "The Good, The Bad, The Redden" nonsense?

It is my twist on the title of the famous spaghetti western movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Since multiple players may have outstanding games and you can only vote for one player in the poll, this affords you the opportunity to recognize multiple players, or a facet of the team, for their commendable play ("The Good"). This also affords you the opportunity to rip players, or a facet of the team, for their particularly substandard play ("The Bad"). Finally, just as "The Player of the Game" affords you the opportunity to recognize the best, this affords you the opportunity to commend the crème de la crème of the worst, who delivered an atrocious performance, or whose singular (or multiple) bad plays directly led to the the detriment of the team ("The Redden").

Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy

The Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player who most exemplifies the qualities that Alex brought to the ice game in and game out. Most notable was his talent for wraparounds. Thusly, this award is given to the player who has the most wraparound attempts throughout the game.

The award tonight goes to Brandon Prust, with 1 wraparound attempt against Atlanta.

Is there a no one option? I would have put Joe Tolleson as an option for announcing there was only a minute left in the game. That probably got the biggest cheer of the night.

POTG: Andrew Ladd

The Good: The fans for letting them have it. If Vinny Prospal doesn't like he can fall down a well.

The Bad: People actually think this mess is one player away from competing.

The Redden: Lundqvist and Callahan deserve to play on real teams. I call for a mercy trade.

If Rangers win next game not in a shootout and Carolina wins 2, but 1 of them in a shootout then who makes the playoffs?

Nothing good came out of this one.

Best thing that happened, Atlanta is playing well enough to beat Carolina. They better not lay down and **** the bed against them after playing like this tonight.

This was worse than the Dallas debacle.

I just don't understand it. Might as well find a 2011 playoff bandwagon to hop on, considering the Rangers aren't going to be there.

POTG - Nobody
The Good - I closed a house deal today which will pay a cool $14K after my brokerage takes their cut
The Bad - I'm a Rangers fan
The Redden - Atlanta will **** the bed tomorrow

Carolina has the next tie-breaker after ROW, head-to-head points.

Just did a quick lookover of the past POTG's and see Gabby was voted for only 4 times. Between him and Dreary that's 14million+ dedicated to 4 games where those players contributed most to a win.

this was a piss poor effort but overall they deserve to make the playoffs. Last yr they did not but this yr they do

it's coming down to the last game of the yr. As Atlanta showed 2nite anything can happen so maybe they surprise the Canes 2morrow.

Also Buffalo has to lose to Philly

I hope Carolina comes out and drops 10 on Atlanta and gets this over with. We don't deserve it and it'd be a sweep anyway.

It's not like this performance came out of the blue. They've played like this for a zillion of games this season.
