lol @ Lundqvist bashing.

Absolutely incredible.Without him, we're basically the Thrashers.

Just a putrid pathetic effort tonight. That is all.

POTG - Callahan (Yeah, you heard me right)

The Good - I got the final decision for the annulment of my first marriage today. Not like it matters, since I've been remarried for 7 months now anyway..but my wife high fived me!

Bad - We play the Devils on Saturday, and they will be looking to rip our spleens out.

The Redden - All the Devil fans that will be deleted from my facebook page come Saturday afternoon, minus my wife..who will has drill with the National Guard and will not even see the game.

Some of you fellows have some pretty silly expectations from the coaching staff. What's even funnier is how some of your opinions on him flip-flop depending on the recent games outcome. This is a young team, playing a huge game. If we had a lucky bounce early in the game, we cruise-control our way to victory imo. We hit a post, and just got a couple of unlucky bounces.
I've seen this team come out looking completely unprepared far too many times the last two seasons. Not just rookies, but our veteran players. The team looks completely lost far too frequently.

When we make good in-game adjustments or come out and dominate, I'm happy to credit Torts. When the opposite occurs, I'm gonna drill him. Overall, I don't think he has coaxed a consistent enough effort from this team. And yes, that is taking into account our youth and injuries.

If the Rangers lose on Saturday and still make the playoffs than Carolina should be banished from the NHL.

not to mention another crap goal to mike frickin boulton.

The whole team sucked beyond comprehension tonight, coach included, but Henrik gets no pass for what he accomplished last week.

he's overpaid and he's won nothing!
No Lundqvist and we'd be finishing where we ought to be finishing: 14th-10th.

If I could, I'd gladly trade Lundqvist for Howard straight-up because what Lundqvist does for this team, the defense and offense does for Howard.

In fairness, Hurricanes have been winning a lot of games. They're do for a loss. It's a division rivalry game. Hopefully Atlanta shows up tomorrow.

Gonna be a long summer for us....NJ is licking their chops for Saturday, a chance to salvage a bad season by taking us down with them. They and their fans would want nothing more.

Hard to see Carolina not winning tomorrow. Unlike the Rangers, they have players who step up in a big game situations. The Rangers really blew it tonight...

What a mess. The same issues that plagued us all season plagued us tonight... inconsistency, failure to hit the net, missed passes, defensive lapses.

If Gaborik plays like how he did this season for the remainder of his contract, forget about contending for anything in the next few years. And I'm starting to have serious doubts about Staal and Girardi as our top pairing if we ever want to compete for the cup. Where's our Duncan Keith type d-man that can actually make an outlet pass, which not one of our d-men was capable of doing tonight? Staal showed promise offensively in the beginning of the season but has tailed off in a major way.

So sick and tired of the EC/Wolski type players. Boyle's first half seems like a total fluke and if he's going to command anything close to $2 million this summer I will lose it. I must say I'm disappointed in how a lot of players on this team ended the season.

Inexcusable lack of effort. Gaborik can get the heck out of town, I'm sick and tired of his inconsistency. Play with heart, or leave.

pretty much disagree with everything posted here.

ive seen a VERY consistent team outside of maybe 4 or 5 games this year, including tonight, and the Islanders game. but, ppl are entitled to their own opinions.

I don't think many coaches would have gotten this team into the playoffs.

The title of the book is actually Stink (Rangers) and the Incredible Shrinking Playoff Lead.

This team as a whole, just simply cannot bury the ******** puck. All year long they've had a problem putting the puck in the net on glorious scoring chances. Its an epidemic with this team.
but there's no talent on this team! who should be scoring besides Gaborik and maybe dubinsky? We have NO OFFENSE to speak of!

this team is hard working and gritty but they only know how to win one way. They have no talent, and they're not good for a reason.

It's frustrating because we are only 7 or 8 quality players away from being a contending team. POTG: Nypd

another thing, this is a very young team, a number of players on this team have never played this intense hockey in this many games in one season, so next season the young guys will be more prepared...i'm excited for next season, but i hope they get some help and make it into the playoffs

Why? The Rangers, Hurricanes and the Sabres, are among the hottest teams in the NHL in the last 15 games. Theres been zero margin for error so losses are going to be magnified, but neither of these teams will have choked away a playoff spot.
